Sapphire
It took us a while to get out of the maze-like room, ending up in an abandoned laboratory filled with dead bodies of scientists and guards. Some of them even twitching.
Who did this?
"What happened here?" Jill spoke out, her gun and her flashlight aimed ahead of us.
"Stay sharp, who knows what else is in here!" Leon says in a stern tone. We walked past the dead bodies as we headed through another door. This time it was filled with giant glass tubes, it was full of water and there were filled with small, but thick black worms swimming around it. At the end of the hall was an open computer, a couple of feet from it an exit.
"These things... they look like Uroboros," I heard Jill say as I walked closer to the computer. Maybe they have a map of the area... surely they do. This place is like a god damn jigsaw maze.
"Uroboros? I read that on Redfield's report. That's the one on Africa, right?"
"Yes, I can't believe this is here again." I looked around the computer, looking for what I needed when my eyes stumbled around a file named 'Project: Sapphire'. I clicked on the folder and various files and folder popped on the large screen that was attached to the wall.
What... what are these...?
I clicked on one video file, and the first thing I heard was Carter's voice. He was angry, screaming at everyone in the lab.
"Inject her with the serum! NOW! I WANT HER MEMORY WIPED OFF!"
Oh Jesus...
The video panned onto me, I was on a bed with a bunch of tubes and syringes attached to me.
"Sir, it's too risky! There is a chance she might not make it!"
"Do what you're told, doctor... unless you want to be in her spot instead?" His voice sounded sinister, and it scared me.
How come... how come I don't remember any of this?
"I don't know how you manage on fighting it off, but I don't care. You will succumb to me..." I quickly shut the video down, feeling sick and disgusted with what I just saw. There were multiple videos on the folder... but I don't know if I can stomach watching any of it.
"What were they doing to you?" Piers asked, his voice laced with worry. My eyes land on him. I was just as clueless as he is.
I turn my attention back to the computer screen. I opened a file, and it was dated a year ago.

Test subject 'Sapphire' shows a form of resistance against any serum or virus injected onto her. Her anti-bodies work slow, but it kills the foreign entity in the host nontheless.

Test subject 'Sapphire' has anti-bodies that is being used to enhance the C-virus. Research is currently going smoothly as expected. Extraction of spinal fluid currently completed. Next step is to extract brain tissue.
Follow up note: brain tissue of the test subject deemed not necessary for research.

Dr. Johnson has decided to place Test subject 'Sapphire' into cryogenic sleep before injecting her with the enhanced C-virus. Data shows that the virus had bonded with her DNA instead of attacking it. Dr. Johnson has injected her with other strain of viruses like G, T, but the subject rejected the said viruses. Her anti-bodies and the C-virus killing the foreign viruses in her body.

The research conducted has found that Sapphire Muller and Jake Muller do not share the same strength of anti-bodies, having Jake carry stronger ones that causes the virus to die in his bloodstream within seconds. Sapphire on the other hand, has fully adapted to the C-virus. It is theorized that Jake's blood helped enhance Sapphire's anti-bodies but more research is needed to further conclude the said theory.
And that was the end of the first file. The other ones contained the same thing, data about my experiments. I'm assuming this is what Nurse Jenny talked about from that letter. My bruises... cuts... no wonder they were healing so fast. And how on earth did they found out about my blood transfusion? That was a long time ago... Jesus... this is making my head hurt.
I clicked onto another video, it was me inside one of those giant glass tubes. There were two people standing in front of me, one of them being Carter.
"Sir, is it necessary for her to be put to sleep?" The man next to Carter asks.
"Unfortunately so. The last time we let her mingle around this mansion, the serum wore off and she nearly escaped. We can't afford to let that happen, considering the fact that our research is only halfway done. Ms. W-" The computer shut down and the bright light in the room turned red.
"SWITCHING TO EMERGENCY MODE: POWER SHORTAGE DETECTED." A robotic voice spoke through the speakers.
"We should go," Leon speaks up.
"Yeah, the sooner we get out, the better." Jill replied.
How come... how come I don't remember any of this? Wait... what did they... Mansion...? What mansion? Shit, maybe they did successfully wipe my memory... well some of it, at least.
I ignored the questions in my head and followed the three as we headed through the door a couple of feet from the computer. Luckily the automatic doors were still working despite the lack of power. We ended up in a large, empty room where a bunch of helicopters and other vehicles, like trucks, were placed.
There was a giant steel shutter at the floor below us, but from the looks of it, we need to open it through a control room. We headed downstairs, and the moment we got down to the lowet floor, Jake ran through another door from the other side of the room. Chris and Sherry following behind him.
"Jake!" I call out to him, relieved to see that he was okay.
They're okay... oh thank g-
"Run! GO! HE'S COMING!" Jake screams at us and at that same time something crawled out of the door they went in.
"Jesus, is that what Uroboros is?" I hear Piers behind me.
