"It's so addicting."

Team's POV

As soon as Pharm left, I stopped faking my smile. Even though I did want to tease him, I didn't have any more strength to smile. It was tiring, smiling.

I laid down on my bed. I hadn't even been there since before Win and I dated. I looked around the room. Normally, this room would give me comfort. It felt so lonely.

My emotions had left so long ago that I almost didn't know what it was like to feel happy anymore. The only memories of happiness I had were the memories with me and Win. And, I didn't want to remember those. I wanted to forget the entire thing. He didn't want me anymore. That was clear the day that he left that hospital room.

I took out my phone, and looked at the last picture we had taken together. We were both smiling. 

I laughed.

"How in the world did I actually think that things would turn out okay?" 

I tossed my phone onto the bed.

"Now that I think about it, I was dumb from the start."

I remembered the moments when my heart would pound and then skip a beat. I was so naive then. 

"The thoughts of happiness for life were only a joke. The type of joke that life had prepared for us to hear."

I stared blankly at the ceiling.

"The type of joke that can kill."

I laughed like a person who had just lost their mind.

"It almost killed me, didn't it?"

I could hear my phone ring. I didn't want to answer, but I knew I would have to as to not make myself suspicious.

I grabbed my phone, and looked at who was calling me.

Incoming Call: Dad

"He sure hasn't called me in a while..."

I clicked 'answer'.

"My son! How are you doing?"

I'm dying.

"I'm fine, how are you?"

"I'm good! How is your relationship going?"

He doesn't love me anymore.

"It's going good."

"That's great! Can I meet him someday?"

He can't even meet me.

"He's quite busy at the moment..."

"That's alright. I did kind of hope it would be soon though... After all, I'm leaving soon."

My eyes went wide.

"What?"

"I called you to tell you that I'm leaving for the states. I didn't know how to tell you in person, so I called."
