Aftermath

Team's POV

I laid in bed as I thought about what happened the other day. I can't believe that Win prepared all of that just for me. I was also happy that I didn't have to confess to him because I am terrible at telling people how I feel. I thought that all that was going to happen was that I and he would watch the movie, and that would be it. No crazy confession of love. But God was I wrong. 

He did everything in his power to make sure that I felt loved and appreciated. For the first time in a couple of years, I felt like someone finally understood the pain that I went through with my mother. I had school today, and for the first time, I wasn't worried about seeing Win. I got my uniform on and grabbed my backpack as I headed out the door. 

While I was in the car, a waft of adrenaline suddenly shot through me as I thought of seeing Win's face. I started to drive faster to school, excited to see him. When I arrived, I grabbed my backpack and rushed out of the car towards the university pool. I put my stuff down in the locker room and rushed outside in my swim club jacket and swim shorts. 

I wasn't looking where I was going, so I ran into someone, and fell in the pool. I ran into them so hard that It knocked the wind out of me. I tried to read the top of the pool, but I had fallen into the deep end, so I was already extremely low underwater. I started to panic, as my breath started to run out. I heard a large splash from above me and started to feel myself being pulled upward. I was afraid it was too late, for I had already let the water in my mouth. 

I was pulled to the side of the pool as I laid down. I could hear someone yelling my name, but I still couldn't breathe. I tried gasping for air, but that didn't work. All of a sudden, I could breathe again. I coughed up large amounts of chlorine-filled water that was stuck in my throat. As I opened my eyes, I could see someone with blonde hair and sharp eyes look at me with extreme concern. Win. I hugged him tightly as my body shook, not only from the cold but from the terror. 

"You're okay. You'll be okay," I could hear him say as I let out a small cry. 

He picked me up, and I still gripped him tight. My vision was blurred from opening my eyes underwater, so I couldn't see much. I just knew that as long as Win was there, I was going to be alright. He took me to the locker rooms and set me down on the bench in the center of the room. I was shivering and freezing. Win took his backpack out from his locker and pulled out some black sweatpants, and a white sweatshirt. He took off my wet jacket and swim shorts and helped me put on the warm and dry clothes. After that, my vision had cleared. Once I had the clothes on, he pulled me up and hugged me.

"What have we said about running around the swimming pool?" He said, in the calmest voice he could muster.

"I-I know... I'm sorry... I-I was just excited to see you..." I said, gripping his shirt tighter. 

"Alright. We should go home. I'll call the University after we get there, and tell them what happened. I'm sure they'll excuse you," Win said, holding my hand.

I locked my fingers with his and stopped trembling. Once we got in the car, and Win started driving, I felt like I had to say something. Something that was on my mind. Something I have wanted to say for a while. I just never had the courage to. I built up the courage and spat it out.

"I love you," I said, but it came out in more of a whisper.

Win looked at me and smiled warmly.

"I love you too," He said.

I felt my face get hot as I started to become shyer.

I could hear him say, "Cute," under his breath.
