I was walking around Corona, greeting people as I went. I was holding a basket that had some cupcakes in a box. I needed to go to the famous ice cream shop to deliver these. They get inspiration from Attila for new flavors of ice cream. As I started seeing the shop in the distance, my brother walked right past me, dragging his sword on the floor. He winked and made his tongue click. I wonder what he did now. I rolled my eyes and walk in the shop. I dropped off the cupcakes, got four shillings, and left. As I closed the door behind me, I saw Varian. I tilted my head. Varian hasn't been outside his lab in a while. I'm glad he's getting fresh air. His sky blue eyes lit up and he called me over to his table. I sat down in the black metal chair.

"Hey Varian! What are you doing here alone?" I ask. He was never the type of person to be out in public alone.

"Oh, I wasn't alone. I was with Eugene. We talked about some uh, stuff." He chuckled.

I raised my eyebrow, "What did you guys talk about?" Varian's eyes widened at the question. He started twiddling his thumbs and leaned back in his chair.

"Oh, just about...sports. And sword fighting. And alchemy. Also um, dating." He covered his mouth. Who knows what girl he could have been talking about.

"Who's the lucky girl or guy? Are you guys dating? Do I know them?" I held my head with my hand. Varian kept trying to spit out an answer. But all he ended up doing was banging his forehead on the table.

"You can just tell me who this mystery person is when your comfortable, I'm not going to force you to tell me anything."

"Oh, we're not dating. And plus, you will never find out who the mystery girl is until I'm ready. But I'll give you a hint." I was at the edge of my chair at this point. "She has h/c hair. Her favorite color is f/c."

That was weird. We both seem similar. Maybe we would get along.

                     "Are you jealous?"

I shook my head, holding my hair with my hands. These people inside my brain are giving me a headache. I winced, and Varian seemed to notice. I dropped my hands onto the table and Varian grabbed my right hand.

"Y/n, what's wrong?" Varian voice was filled with worry. I didn't want to tell him about the voices. He doesn't have to know. I was about to tell him nothing was wrong, until I saw two small kids go by us. It was Kiera and Catalina.

"Ooh! Looks like Varian is on a date with Y/n!" The red haired one exclaimed as she pointed at us. All the blood from my body rushed up to my face.

"Yeah! They were holding hands, I saw it!" Kiera yelled. I got up and grabbed Varian's wrist. He just went along with it, since he's always being dragged around or falling off somewhere. I dragged him throughout Corona without both of us saying a word. I took us to a secret spot in Corona. It has a waterfall, pond, rocks, and was pretty much a tiny forest.
I went to sit down on a rock. Varian sat down next to me. His eyes were in total shock seeing this waterfall.

"Y/n, how do you know about this place? I've lived in Corona all my life. How did I not know about this place?" The blue eyed boy questioned.

"Apparently the former queen says that only people who live in the castle know about it. Only a few people actually stumble upon it. Eugene told me about it the day I got here."

"It's...pretty." Varian stared at the blue water.

"I know, right?! I'm pretty sure that this is the only waterfall in Corona." I exclaim.

"Hey Dandelion? If this place is so special and only a few people know about it, why did you show me?" He asks tilting his head in confusion.

"Well...because you're special to me. If I seem down, you would do anything to cheer me up. But you would also not let me bottle up my emotions. You're also a person who just really, I don't know. Gets me. You get stuff that my brother would probably not understand. I could never ask for a better best friend." I beamed at the alchemist.

Varian blushed, scratching the back of his neck. "I never knew you thought of me that way. I thought that you were just a sympathy friend." Varian chuckled, as he took off his glove to feel the water.

"How could I be a sympathy friend? First, I don't do that. Second, you're an incredible person. You're really smart, you're sweet. And you would drop anything for me. Thank you for that Varian." I smiled.

"It's what I'm best at." Varian joked as smiled back. We just enjoyed the view in silence. And this time, not an awkward one. Just a peaceful one.

Varian cleared his throat and spoke up, "Y/n, can I ask you a question?"

"Sure, anything." I replied, while grabbing a rock and skipping it on the body of water.

"What is that bridge up there?" Varian pointed out. I looked up and there certainly was a bridge.

"Huh. I didn't notice that before. Must be new." I finally said.
