"𝚈𝚘𝚞 𝚑𝚊𝚟𝚎 𝚙𝚛𝚎𝚝𝚝𝚢 𝚎𝚢𝚎𝚜" A Varian x Reader (discontinued.)

𝙎𝙡𝙚𝙚𝙥𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧: 𝙋𝙖𝙧𝙩 𝙄𝙄

Everyone had their encores at some point. Varian had a duet with Eugene, and Eugene had a duet with Rapunzel. Raps had a duet with Cass, which was probably the best duet. This wasn't the sleepover I was expecting. I'm surprised it went so..well. I thought something bad would have happened, like someone breaking a bone, or someone getting kidnapped. Everyone nearly broke a bone today, but thankfully that didn't happen. Everyone was now on the floor in their pajamas, telling stories. I didn't want to participate, so I just sat down on my bed with my palm holding my head. It was dark in my room since Eugene insisted on turning the lights off and grabbing some candles to give the story more of a "dramatic" effect.

My head peeped over to Varian, who was the closest to my bed. I saw his camera behind him, with some polaroids on the cold, marble floor. I looked around to make sure no one was looking. Everyone was focused on the storytelling. I snatched up the polaroids into my hands. It was a little bit hard to see in the dark, but I could make it out.

There were more photographs than the ones I saw a couple hours ago. I didn't even notice that Varian took more pictures.

The first one on the pile of photographs was all of us staring at the coin that Vex flipped. Our faces were in awe. I smiled. This is an adorable picture.

The next was the perfect picture or Varian in terror and the girls scaring him with the ghost stories. I'm guessing Vex stole his camera for a while.

The second one was Cass and everyone in a circle on the floor. I'm guessing it was from Truth or Dare. Vex looked smug (as usual,) and Varian had a shocked look on his face from a question. God, he looked adorable.

Stop. Just- just stop Y/n.

The third one. Wonder what this was. I couldn't see it as much, so I got closer to the window, still staying on my bed. It was me giving Varian a hug. Before his performance for truth or dare. His bright blue eyes were closed and his mouth was curled into a smile, as he put his arms around my torso. The next picture showed the hug from a different angle. It was me. My arms were around Varian's neck, and my chin was in Varian's shoulder, as my face was a bright pink. Oh. I didn't realize I was blushing so much. How-

"Stupid."

'Thanks for reminding me.' I scoff in my brain. God, I just want to get rid of them.

The last photograph was when Varian was singing his heart out. Ok, this is sort of embarrassing to say...but him singing made him 10x more attractive.

"Lord kill us all."

'Shut up.' I groaned in my head. I grabbed the pictures and straightened them out, leaving them back on the floor by Varian. Just as if on cue, Eugene caught my attention.

"Dandelion! Join us for the stories, wont ya?" Eugene said cockily. I rolled my eyes and sat down next to him and Cass.

"Who wants to hear a story about how we were on an island for a few days?" Rapunzel spoke up, her eyes sparking from the candles. Everyone gave a head nod, as Raps started beginning the story. Apparently there was this idol of...I don't know how to say it. It sounds like gibberish. According to Rapunzel and Cass, it made you see hallucinations. And Eugene explained that there were these 'leaf people' who acted like they were better than everyone else. That must've gotten old quickly. Cass also explained that Pascal was mistaken for a god. I wouldn't be surprised if he was.

The night went on with people sharing their stories, real or fake, and it was about 12:30 ish when everyone got tired. Kiera and Catalina were passed out on the floor, and Vex was slapping herself to stay awake, since she always had to go to bed early for deputy duties. The adults all got up and left, yelling out a 'good night' before they left the room. Vex and I carefully scooped up the girls and put them to bed. Varian slumped down onto his part of the bunk bed, stretching his arms and legs. I felt like I was going to pass out. I need to go to bed. I walked over to my bed and face planted into it.

"Good night guys." I mumbled. I heard only one person reply. I'm guessing everyone else fell asleep.

"Going to sleep already?" Varian commented. I rolled my eyes, I swear this guy never sleeps.

"Varian. I'm going to sleep already, since I don't go to bed at twelve in the afternoon. Now, let me sleep." I scold in between my teeth, as I put my legs under my warm f/c blankets. The alchemist scoffed and crossed his arms.

"Sleep is for the weak. Now get up, I need to show you something. It's pretty important."  Varian insulted.

"First, I am not weak. Second of all, whatever, I just want to get this over with." I whispered. I tossed the blankets to the side and walked towards Varian. He grabbed my arm and led me out the door.

"Where are we going?!" I whisper-yell. Varian didn't reply, he just kept running, still grabbing my arm. We ended up in front of his lab.

"I promise Y/n, it'll be worth it. Trust me, you're gonna love this." Varian smirked. He opened the door to his lab and made a hand gesture.

"Milady?" Varian blushed. I'm guessing his blush was contagious, since I felt blood rush to my face. I walked through, sand I saw something that I didn't notice earlier today. There was a ladder that led all the way to the ceiling. Wonder what this was. Varian climbed up the ladder and pushed part of the ceiling. I followed him up and I wasn't expecting this. We were on top of the castle, basically the roof! But it wasn't just an ordinary part of a roof. There was a bench, a few books on the side, and some packaged candy from Monty's. There was also a mini side table next to the bench. Varian grabbed the books and put them on the table and left the candy on the floor. The alchemist then sat down on the bench and patted the spot next to him, telling me to sit. Still in awe, I sat down.

"Varian, how did you do this?! This is...incredible!" I exclaim, the moonlight glistening in my e/c eyes.

"I don't think it's that big of a deal. And all I did was just buy a few stuff and get permission from Rapunzel to make this. It isn't that big of a deal." Varian smiled sheepishly. I looked up at the sky, and it was full of stars. The moon was full and bright.

"It's a beautiful night. You really picked the right day to show me this." I faced Varian. He was scratching the back of his neck and his ears were red. "Varian? Is there something wrong?" I question with concern.

"Oh uh- Well no. I was just nervous that you wouldn't like it. That's why I asked you to see this. You know when something is terrible or amazing. Plus, Rapunzel gives too much sympathy." Varian chuckled. I laughed, which made Varian smile. I didn't really know what to say next, so I just stared into Varian's eyes. Then at his lips. Wait, what?! No-
No-
Not now!

"Do it."
"Do it!"
"Do it I guess."

I couldn't do it.

"Well Varian, I think his has been a lovely evening, but I think we should go to sleep now. Should we go up here tomorrow after the guests leave?" I wince through my teeth. God, this wasn't a good idea. Varian's face fell. He seemed a little upset, was this little visit too short? His frown turned into a small smile.

"Ok then. Lets head back." Varian gulped. I nodded and we headed back down. We walked back to my room and I laid down in my bed, hiding myself in the covers.

'Ok. Time to think about what happened today. WHY DID I DO THAT?! WHY DID I STARE THERE?! THIS IS SO EMBARRASSING." I groan in my head. I felt my face go warm. At this point, I just wanted to disappear. I plopped a pillow in my face, nearly screaming. I would normally scream, but there's three people sleeping in my room right now. I sat up.

"Good night Varian." I mumbled.

"Good night honey." Varian mumbled into his pillow. My eyes widened and my face warmed up. I hid in my covers. That must've been a mistake, right? I mean, it's late, I can see why he would mess up his words. I'm worrying too much. I grabbed my stuffed animal and dug them into my chest, as my breath started to get quieter and my eyes shut.
