Coming into the darkness (Dance With Devils x reader)

Chapter 5

Y/n POV

After the whole thing with Urie, Lindo had put both me and Ritsuka on lock down, even going the extra mile and putting locks on the windows.

Right now, Lindo was talking to Ritsuka, probably about him being an exorcist, devils and vampires being real, and the Grimoire. While he did that, I sat in my room. Why exactly was Lindo so worried about me? It's not like I'm the Grimoire or anything.

Anyway, I had fallen a sleep. The loud noise and I instantly rush to Ritsuka's room, cracking to door open to see her getting changed into her school uniform. I stay to see what she's up to, and follow her out of her window that she had broken, so I can keep an eye out on her.

I agreed that she shouldn't be stuck in her room, expecially since it'll be harder to get her to Roen in the house, but if she runs into the devils, let's just say, that's not good.

When Ritsuka and I got to the student council room, she turns to me. "You don't need to follow me." She says.

"How can you say such a thing? Someone needs to watch over you." Luckily she hasn't asked any questions about my wound, other than asking if it's alright, so I was able to keep her from realizing my true form, for now at least. "Anyway, the devils or vampires could get you and that would end horribly."

"Yeah, I guess you're right." Ritsuka knocks on the door, and a familiar dog opens the door. Well, I guess since Roen's here, I don't really have anything to worry about. "Hello, is Rem in there?" Roen doesn't say anything. "Are you part of the student council, too?" He remains silent, and closes the door in Ritsuka's and my faces.

We turn around to see Rem. "There you are." I glare at Rem, who had stopped when he noticed Ritsuka and me.

"Do you need something." He asks.

"It's just, you've been so nice about everything that's happened." Ritsuka explains. "I'm just wondering if you're doing it because of the Grimoire."

"You're brother and Y/n both hate me. That complicates things." I look at him. I wouldn't say I hated him, but he does give me this weird feeling. "You should stop hanging around me. Sorry, but I can't continue offering you my help."

That's good. Rem's given up, which only makes my job easier. Rem walks into the student council room and Ritsuka tries to stop him, but I grab her shoulder. "It's for the best. You heard what Lindo said, he's a devil and therefore can't be trusted." She nods in response. "Now, you should go to class. I'll be right there, I just need to check on something."

"Alright, but please stay safe." She says, rushing out of the room.

"That's supposed to be my line." I let out a giggle.

I walked up behind Roen, who is watching Ritsuka, being dragged into a room by a fake Rem. "So, you disguised humans as Rem." I say, causing Roen to look behind him and see me.

He smiles once he turns around. "Yes, what do you think?"

"I think it's a good idea, but why are you doing it? To break the pendant she has on her?" I ask, sitting next to him.

"You'll have to wait and see." I hate how he's so secretive, even towards me.

I sigh. "I guess I will."

Apparently Roen wanted to see what Lindo was capable of, which is why he had tricked Ritsuka with the fake Rems, but why didn't he come ask me? Had he not thought that I was reliable? Or have I not seen his true power?

I'm snapped out of my thoughts when I feel someone kiss my cheek. I look at Roen, face bright as it always is when he pulls stunts like this. "I should get going so the student council don't suspect me, and I think you should do the same." He says.

Since I was still red, and I was also afraid I'd stutter, I nodded and ran off to Lindo and Ritsuka. "Are you ok?" I ask, pretending to pant and wipe away sweat so they don't suspect anything.

"Yeah, we're fine." Lindo says. "Anyway, where we're you?"

"I had to go back to the house to get my uniform so I could go to class and not get into trouble." I defend myself. Good thing I actually did go back home to get my uniform. "When I got back, I went to check Ritsuka's class to make sure she got there safely, and was shocked when I found out she wasn't. Do you know how hard it was to find you guys? And it's really not cool to lie. I see all that blood!"

Lindo looks at me suspiciously for a moment before giving me a smile. "In that case, we should all go home."

I sigh and help him walk to the house. "You know, you guys are such a handful."

He lets out a chuckle. "That's supposed to be my line."
