Chapter 8

Y/n POV

All this stuff with the student council and the vampires has been really annoying. Luckily the vampires haven't made a move recently, so I can expect they won't today, the real problem is the student council. I can't stop thinking about them. How Rem has tried to protect us from the vampires and keep the student council under check. How Urie looked at me with actual love in his eyes. How Mage had acted when we were floating above the ocean. And what Shiki had said, and how he seemingly knew me better than even I knew myself. I just couldn't stop thinking.

"Y/n, are you alright?" Ritsuka says, breaking me free from my thoughts.

I looked at her. "Yeah, I was just thinking." I say, which seems to comfort her. "So, what do we still need to get?"

"We basically got everything we need for the festival." Ritsuka says.

"Speaking of which, none of the boys in our class have helped out with the sports festival. How do they expect us to carry all these decorations back to school?" Azuna complains.

"I think this place offers delivery. It wouldn't hurt to ask." Ritsuka says while I look down at the bottom shelf to see Roen in his Pomeranian form.

"Ok, I'll schedule the delivery for us. You stay where I can see you at all times. Both of you." Azuna says in a strict voice.

"Alright."

"Yeah, sure."

I hear Azuna walk off, but I'm still looking at Roen. "Hey, Y/n what are you looking at?" She looks down. "Isn't that Rem's dog."

"Yeah, it looks like it." I nod.

Roen suddenly starts moving out of the shop and the two of us follow, but not before Ritsuka yells to Azuna that we we're heading out.

The two of us manage to catch up with Roen, who had stopped at the park next to a fountain. I pick him up and we head to a bench, where I place Roen on my lap. Ritsuka takes a look at his tag. "Just as I suspected. You do belong to Rem. But why were you at the store?" She asks.

"Maybe he was shopping for dog food?" I joke.

"What are you talking about? Dogs can't buy food."

Roen jumps off of my lap, sniffs Ritsuka and then jumps back to my lap, sniffs me and licks my neck. I let out a yelp. "Roen, stop. That tickles." Then he transforms into his human form.

I blush and Ritsuka looks at us in shock. "What's going on?" She freaks out, not like I blame her, after all, I'd freak out in her shoes too.

Roen pulls away from my neck and looks at Ritsuka. "It's a pleasure to see you again Miss Tachibana, well as a human. We met once. I am Roen, remember." Ritsuka once again let's out a scream, still shocked over the fact that he was a dog and now he's a human and was just licking her sister's neck, and again, I don't blame her.

Suddenly, Ritsuka pushes Roen off of me, and goes to answer her phone, which was ringing. Roen blocks her finger from touching the screen.

"If you could please ignore your phone for a minute, I have some info on the Grimoire. I really want to help." I look at him in surprise. Was he really going to tell her now? Was it the best time to tell her?

"The Grimoire? Are you a devil?" Ritsuka asks.

"No, he's more like the guard dog of the underworld. After all, he is Cerberus." I explain, causing her to look at me.

"Wait, you know him?" Ritsuka asks.

"Yes, he was my first ever friend and the servant of my father, and I trust him with my life. He'll help us with the Grimoire."
