Coming into the darkness (Dance With Devils x reader)

Chapter 19

Y/n POV

As the others fight off the vampires, Nesta grabs ahold of me and drags me back up the stairs. "Let me go you fool!" I scream and shout, trying to break free.

"The more you struggle, the more painful it will be for you. Not that I mind, that is." I stop my struggling for a moment to glare before quickly going back to trying to break free.

When we reach the top, he watches as the devils fight off his vampire servants. While he and Jek are both distracted watching the fight, I look around for a weapon, seeing a candle holder. I grab it and use it to his Nesta, the force causing Nesta to let go of me.

With my wrist now set free, I run off, Jek following me quickly. Before I know it, Jek grabbed my hair, causing me to yell out in pain. He then slaps me, probably an attempt to shut me up, but it could also be because I had hurt his 'beloved Lord' Nesta.

Jek drags me back to Nesta. "Lord Nesta, the moon is high. It's time to prepare the right."

I glare up at Nesta, but then I'm pulling into him. I once again struggle to get out of his grip, failing miserably.

As Nesta's about to bit into my neck, I hear Roen whistle. Nesta pulls away, looking down to see shadow dogs biting at his shadow.

"I will do what I must to make the will of my master reality." Roen says, causing Nests to lose his temper. I am once again given the chance to escape, and I run away.

Behind me I can hear Jek, who's probably chasing after me again, but I stop hearing his footsteps when I hear a whooshing sound pass by. I continue to run until I run into someone's arms. I look up to see they are Lindo's arms. "It's ok, we're going to keep you safe."

I feel a wave of relief come over me, and I hold onto him as tight as I can. Rem teleports behind Lindo, and Jek starts going on about how I'm 'Lord' Nesta's now and that they should leave.

Lindo hands me over to Rem, and I reluctantly wrap my arms around him. He teleports us to somewhere safe, in the castle, leaving Lindo to fight Jek on his own.

I try to pull out of Rem's arms, but he pulls me back in. "It's ok, you're out of danger now." I hear him say. "Thank goodness." I then pull away, looking up at him, my eyes tearing up. "When this is all done and over with, I have something to tell you."

Are you talking about the whole you loving me thing? Because in that case, you sang that song with everyone else! I mentally yell out.

"You'll be safe with me." Rem assures me.

"Ok, but if I end up dying here, you'll be the first person that comes to mind when I'm looking for someone to blame." I tell him, causing a small smile to appear on his face.

"I wouldn't expect anything less from you."

I sit in my and Rem's hiding place, watching everyone fight. My attention turns to Lindo, who is starting to slowly walk to Nesta. That's when I remember that Nesta can control other vampires. "Lindo! Stop, please!" I yell out, trying to rush to his side.

I am unfortunately stopped by Rem. "You can't go down there." I look up at Rem, and continue trying to rush out, but I'm still being held back. I start to cry. "Y/n, we have to trust that he comes through."

I stop struggling, watching Lindo. Tears still falling down my cheeks. Relief washes over me when I see Lindo stabbing Nesta right where the heart should be. When Lindo pulls his hand out of Nesto, Nesta starts to wither away.

With that, the other vampires run off and Rem teleports us down to the others. I cry tears of joy, happy that it was all finally over. My feet start running to Lindo, not giving me a chance to think. I wrap my arms around him. "Lindo! You scared me so badly!" I cry out.

"Y/n!" He says, hugging me back.

"Well, it looks like the exorcist stole our thunder after all."

"I'll allow it this once."

"That stand off sent shivers down my spine."

I pull away from the hug, wiping my tears away. My tears completely gone, I realize, Nesta's presence, it wasn't gone. That moment, we all hear a laugh, coming from where Nesta should have died.

"You couldn't honestly believe that a dhampir could kill me, did you? Come now, I am a king after all." The voice of Nesta says, his dark energy coming back to his body. Best stands up, and regenerates.

"But the legends say that if you pierce the vampire king's heart, he'll die in agony."

"He's hidden it." Both Rem and I say.

I glare up at Nesta. I knew he wasn't going to just tell us where it was, so it was up to us to figure out where the heart is.

Suddenly the seven of us are being sent to the back of the room. Before my back hits the wall, Rem teleports behind me, taking the brunt of the force.

My eyes widen, looking around at everyone. I had sacrificed myself to protect those I care about, but instead, they're all hurt. If Nesta manages to kill them and take in my blood, Ritsuka and her mom will likely follow. I look at the large clock behind Nesta. If everyone could hold on for a little longer, I can use the power of the Grimoire to finish Nesta once and for all.

The clock's hand moves, and that's when I feel the power of Grimoire rush through me. "With the Grimoire's power, I won't let you hurt anyone ever again!" I shout.

Then, all I can see is sky and ocean all around. I look around and notice a knife. I move towards the knife, leaning down and grabbing it. "What is this for?" I wonder. I then look around once again, seeing a large, black rose. I start walking closer, a heartbeat being heard. The closer to the flower I get, the louder the beats get. Once I am fully infront of the rose, I glare at it. This had to be where Nesta's heart is. I raise the knife above my head, jabbing it in to the center of the flower.

I suddenly come back to reality and notice I was infront of a statue, blood oozing out of it and a knife in its chest. I let go of the hilt of the knife and look behind me, seeing a creepy Nesta, who was withering away once again. This time however, he turned to dust and the wind blew him away.

I smile, knowing that I had killed the so called vampire king, before I felt the Grimoire's power leave my body. Without the power, I felt faint and began falling to the ground. Someone catches me before I fall completely, and I look up, seeing Rem had caught me. I smile at him before closing my eyes.
