Chapter 20.1 (Rem)

Y/n POV

I open my eyes, seeing the morning sky. "Good, you're awake." I hear someone say. I look at the source of the voice, seeing Rem looking down on me. Then I realize something. I was lying on Rem's lap. My body shoots up and I turn to him, my face bright red.

I rub the back of my head, letting out a nervous laugh. "So, Rem! You said that you had something to tell me, can you tell me what it is?" I nervously say, trying to turn the attention away from my previous action.

He gives me a soft smile, one that made every part of my body tingle. He stands up and we stare into each other's eyes. "When we first met, I didn't know it, but I think our fate had already been sealed. I felt something that I didn't really know how to explain, and I was afraid that you wouldn't feel the same way. But..." He pulls his hand up, opening it up, showing me the crowns from the dance.

I remember having had put it somewhere in the nurse's office. He must have found it in there after I left with Jek. I look at Rem, tears of joy welling up in my eyes. "I can't keep it to myself anymore. I love you, Y/n."

I smile at Rem, lifting my arms up so I can wrap them around his neck. "I love you too, Rem..." I say softly.

Rem hugs me back, one of his hands was placed on my head. "I'm glad."

I let of of him and he turns me around so we can both look at the lake. "Now that the Grimoire is gone, I have no reason to stay in this world. Will you come back with me?" I look back at Rem, eyes wide. "We can live a happy life together. We could live a life we could only dream about, in the demon world."

I look out into the lake. "I've decided." I say, looking at Rem. "I'll go back to the underworld with you."

"Looks like we'll be seeing our little butterfly more often."

"Don't worry babe, I'll make sure to make you fall for me."

"One day, Y/n, we will fall in love with each other."

"I hope for you to come visit me someday."

I turn to Lindo and smile. "Lindo, tell Ritsuka that I'll miss her and that I'll come and visit."

Lindo gives me a sad smile before nodding. "Stay safe..."

"I will." I turn back to Rem. "I'm ready to go now."

With that, we hug, Rem teleporting us to the underworld.
