Chapter 7

Y/n POV

Once Ritsuka, Lindo and I return home, I start heading to my room. "I've had a busy day today, so I'm gonna go to bed. Goodnight!" I say.

"No you don't Y/n. You owe me an explanation." I hear Ritsuka say.

I try to think about what she could probably mean, then it hits me, she meant the whole thing about me not being a human. I guess now's the best time to tell her.

"Ok, but it's best if you sit down for this."

I finish explaining what I am, and Ritsuka seems surprised. "So, you're a hybrid?" She asks to confirm.

"Yes, I am. My mother had sent me down here to protect to Grimoire from the devils and vampires." I lie.

"In other words, you're here because of the Grimoire." Ritsuka looks down at the ground, a sad look on her face.

I nod. "Yes, but I do care for you like a sister, even if I've only been here for a year."

She looks up, tears in her eyes and a sad smile on her face. "Why don't you get some rest, after all, we have school tomorrow."

Since Lindo wasn't at school today, I am stuck watching over Ritsuka. I mean, I would still be watching over her, but in the shadows.

"You're brother isn't here today?" Azuna asks.

"Yeah, he said he had to run an errand." Ritsuka replies. "But he did pack me this lunch."

"Woah, he put it in a nice basket and everything. If that's a normal lunch, than your birthday meal will rock."

"Yeah yeah, it sure will." I continue walking. "The birthday meal sure will be unforgettable."

"Speaking of birthdays, Y/n, when is yours?" I stop and look at Azuna.

"It's the day after Ritsuka's."

"Two birthdays in a row. You might not be able to eat for a few days after." Asuna jokes.

I let out a giggle, which is cut off by the bell. "Look at that, we should hurry."

"Right."

"Aw man, I forgot my notebook." Azuna says after checking her bag. "I'll be back in a flash."

"Ok, just don't take too long." I say. Suddenly, I feel a presence. "Ritsuka, stay here, I'll come and get you in a moment."

She nods, a worried look on her face.

I walk towards one of the flower bushes, hearing the sound of someone ripping flowers from the bush. With curiosity, I go to the other side of the bush, seeing the one responsible for the damage to for rose blush.

"You really should stop that." I tell Shiki, who hadn't seemed to notice me. "It's not good to hurt innocent flowers." I walk over to him, grabbing his wrist in hopes for him to stop.

"It's none of your business!" He pushes me away, causing a thorn to prick my hand.

I take a look at the thorn for a moment before deciding to take it out. Blood starts to ooze out, and to stop the bleeding, I put the wound up to my mouth and suck on the wound. Once I'm sure little to no blood will come out, I stop and look at Shiki. I notice he's looking at me with this weird look.

"You really shouldn't hurt these flowers. They're very pretty, and it's not like they did anything to you." I complain.

"So you like flowers?" What does he mean by that? Of course I like flowers, otherwise I wouldn't have tried stopping him. Shiki comes closer, grabbing onto my hand that was pricked. "Let me see." He says while I blush at how close he is.
