I decided to get out of the house and go to the dog park. It was starting to get late so we got back in the car and I let her sit in the front seat she put her head on my lap
" Yeah honey... good girl I love you "
I pulled out and started to go home and the traffic was heavier than usual
" what's going on hu girl "
I started to change stations until one said
" expect more traffic due to the train derailment "
Ember started to freak out
" shh shh "
I got to the station and no one was there ember jumped out and ran upstairs and nothing
" come on "
She got in and I drove around till I saw lights and a train car up in the air on one end and it looked like it could fall at any moment.
" please no please no "
Then I saw sparks and I knew it was Buck up there cutting into the side because no one else would do that. I tried and tried to get closer I left Ember in the car but she kept barking and finally I got through as they were putting a man into an ambulance I started to cry as I saw him standing there. Ember flew by me and jumped on him and I ran over and hugged him and said
" I love you "
" I love you too Ummm how did you get here "
I laughed a little and pulled away
" I heard it on the radio and we went to the station and no one was there so I really did follow my heart and I found you "
He kissed me
" ok I better go before I get in trouble I'll see you when you get home "
I got back in my car and drove home with tears in my eyes.

Bucks pov
When I opened the door I tried to be quiet because it was one in the morning but the lights were on so I knew she was still up. She was looking out the window with a beer in her hand
" hey "
I said and set my stuff down and she didn't respond
" Ruby "
" hum what sorry "
She walked over and gave me a kiss and it was odd that she was drinking alone she never does that
" stressful day "
She looked at the bottle
" yeah umm sit down "
We sat down at the island and she looked like she was trying not to cry and she said
" I went to the doctor today and Ummm I was 6 weeks pregnant "
Her voice broke when she said weeks but she continued
" she said it was a number of things but it wasn't my fault sometimes it just doesn't stick "
She let out a ragged breath and all I could see was red
" I'll kill him he did this he tackled you "
" he was going to hurt you "
For some reason that settled me down a little
" It just wasn't the right time "
She gave me a quick smile then got up to put the bottle in the garbage but I quickly pulled her into a hug and we both started to cry
" I'm so sorry I should have stayed home with you I should have gone with you "
" it doesn't matter the outcome would still have been the same there would have been one less brave man at that derailment thought "
I was surprised that she was thinking about that but I guess that's what she puts others before herself.
