Bucks pov
When we walked upstairs I said
" We have a kid "
They all looked at Ruby thinking she was pregnant
" correction we adopted a kid one of the ones that were kidnapped Jake and actually he goes the same school as Chris "
We grabbed our plates and sat down and Hen said
" When did this happen you guys haven't been talking about it before "
" oh well it kinda just fell into our laps his parents got into a car accident and didn't make it and we'll they put Ruby down for the legal guardian "
I said and Hens face went from confusion to joy
" well now you guys know the struggle "
She laughed and then added
" How old is he "
" 9 "
Ruby said as she reached for her water
" wow getting to that rebellious age then "
We both shrugged and laughed. We both got up to put our dishes in the sink as the bell went off
" let's go car fire "

We got in the truck and she put her hand on top of mine and I saw her ring and smiled. When we got there there wasn't a fire so Bobby called dispatch and when he was saying there was nothing here and asking if we were at the right place I looked around and saw Ruby walking away looking down. After she turned a corner she came running back yelling
" get down get down "
I looked and finally saw that the gravel was wet and it went in a line under the car I quickly moved away from the car and so did the rest of them and we got behind the truck. She was coming back when the line was lit and she couldn't move fast enough to stop it and it got to the car and it exploded. I ran out from behind the truck and through the smoke and flames, she walked towards us holding her arm. Hen and I ran over to her and she collapsed onto me
" come on we need to get you looked at "
" ok "
She said and we went over to the ambulance and I helped her take the jacket off
" Sorry sorry sorry "
I said as I pulled it off her arm dragging the blood down her arm. She looked at it as she pulled up her sleeve more
" Oh I've had worse "
She said with a small smile and looked up at me. She pulled her hair to the side and grabbed at the end of the braid where a hair tie should be
" Hen you wouldn't have a hair tie would you "
" fresh out of them I'm afraid "
She said and they both smiled. I moved so I was behind her more and I took out what was left of the braid and pulled it up and took the hair tie that I always have on me that you can't see because it blends in with my watch
" did you just put a rubber band in my hair "
She said fake annoyed
" no, I always have an extra hair tie for you "
She smile at me the turned back to Hen
" ok can I get back to work now "
He said
" yeah "
She set down all the stuff that she collected to clean her up. I watched as she cleaned it so we could see how deep it was and it was pretty good and she said
" well Two were going to have to take you to get stitches but I think you'll be able to come back today when it's done so "
" ok "
" don't worry Buck I'll bring her back in one piece "
" looks like I'm on the truck "
Chimney said and he walked away and I gave her a quick kiss.
