When she was walking to the ambulance he started to come to he looked and saw the name on her jacket and said
" Thanks, Buckley "
She took her helmet off and pulled her hair out of the jacket and the look oh his face was pure shock. She turned and sat down looking at him as the other guy got an oxygen mask for her and she said
" no problem Aeropostale "
" it's Luke "
" I know "
I couldn't help but notice how cute she looked with some ash on her face. We got back Eddie and I were upstairs and after like 10 minutes she came up and went to get a drink
" hey, Buckley ... Buckley "
At the same time, we both said
" what "
He looked at us confused I walked over to her and she said
" Sorry I thought you were talking to him since it seems like you don't think women can do this "
She took a drink of the water then set it on the counter and he said
" I'm sorry you just didn't look like you could hold your own "
" Tell me did you fight for this country did you save a man when you were the one that needed saving did you take in a kid that you were kidnapped with and love him did you "
She was looking at him and he was speechless
" now why is it that you think women can't do a job like this just you wait and see who pulls you from the fire again "
I grabbed the water and took a drink and he was confused once again I laughed a little and walked away and so did she. We sat down and Eddie said
" you know you gave him a nickname "

" yep everyone's calling him Aeropostale "
" look at him "
I said and we took a quick look at him and he looked lost sitting on his own
" I guess I should say sorry for being rude "
" you're too nice he needed that "
She got up
" come on let's go "

Ruby's pov
We sat down at the table with him and he looked kinda scared
" look I think we got off on the wrong foot I'm Two this is Eddie and Buck, my husband "

He said then added
" you're names Two "
" ah no that's what her nickname is short for Two point oh "
Chimney said as he passed by
" yeah and I'm sorry but I think yours is Aeropostale "
The rest of the day flew by. Jake ran into our room and said
" I'm 10 I'm 10 I'm 10 "
" it's 9 am you didn't sleep in "
He had a big smile on his face
" ok let's go "
We all got dressed and started to set things up for his party. I was just finishing up his cake when Maddie walked into the kitchen
" hey "
" oh hey I would give you a hug but "
I put up my arm that had little random dots of flower from turning the mixer on to high by accident and frosting because I dropped the spoon.
" ok what can I do "
" Umm bring the cups and drinks out I just have to write his name then put the candles on "
" ok "
She brought them out and Buck came in to help me bring it out and we sang happy birthday
" ok make a wish "
He closed his eyes for a second then a smile grew on his face and he blew out the candles. After cake they played in the small bouncy house then he decided he wanted to open his presents. It was all a blur of laughs and kids running around. It was only 6 and he was down for the count.

I woke up at 5 and I just looked through the pictures from Jake's birthday and started to cry a little when I found one of Jake and Buck they were so happy. It was now ten to six so I carefully got up and got ready I had a slice of banana bread that Buck made and I wrote a note for both of them

I put it on my pillow and went to Jakes room and put one on the door that said
' Sorry I didn't get to make you breakfast this morning I and Ember will be home late so be good for dad ok. Love you bud - Mom '

I said patting my leg and Ember got up and we left.
