Ruby's pov
I felt a sharp pain and I lunged forwards a little that's when I realized the cops were there and an ambulance. Someone pulled me back down so I knew I was on the gurney
" God be a little nicer Areo "
I said and he smiled just last week we shortened his nickname they got me in the back and I said
" on no, you're not working on me "
I looked and saw chimney about to close the door
" Chim, please "
" it's his night Two "
" fine "
He closed the door and I said
" so how's Buck "
" he's good the bullet just grassed his left side "
He grabbed the scissors
" whoa whoa I'll just lift it "
I pulled up my shirt and he started to work on it
" at least it went through right "
" How are you so calm "
" Trust me I've survived worse army remember "

I started to laugh because it was my right side
" What did I do something wrong "
" no now I have a shooting star on my side if I wanted that I would have gotten a tattoo much cheaper then scars "
He smiled and he was about to say this is going to sting

I said and he started to clean it with alcohol I grabbed onto the bed

Buck pov
I walked over to the cop car to answer some questions when the ambulance left
" wait wait "
I said and started to follow it a little I think it's the fact that the sirens weren't on yet that scared me
" come on chimney "
And as he got about halfway down the block he turned them on and I smiled
" Thanks for giving me a heart attack Chim "
" Sorry Mr. Buckley but we still have a few questions "
" yeah sorry "
I walked back over and the guy said
" ok so after she asked if he was ok what happened "
" well he turned and looked at us and in a split second he pulled the gun and she "
I stopped talking as I remember what happened
" sir "
" oh sorry umm he fired the gun I was closer to him it was supposed to hit me why would she pulled me back and stepped in front of me and after that I got him to the ground and she called for help god how could I have missed that she was shot "
" sir you know the bullet hit you as well "
I looked down and there was a scratch almost on my side. After they were don't asking all the questions that they needed to they took me to the hospital the wound wasn't bad at all.

Maddie's pov
When I got to the hospital I went straight to the desk
" Hello my brother was admitted I believe "
" ok what's his name "
" Evan "
" Maddie "
I turned and there he was in the waiting room I quickly walked over to him and hugged him
" whe- where's Ruby "
" she still back there Maddie what if "
" don't you dare think like that she is a fighter and a dam good one "
We sat down and after about ten minutes Chimney came in and so did Areo they sat down and Areo said
" don't worry she was talking me through what I needed to do on the way here "
A smile appeared on Buck's face

" she's going to be just fine Buck I mean look at me I had a piece of rebar in my head and they saved me "

He said with a smile and grabbed my hand and kissed it. It was about 12 when a man came out and said

I woke them up and we went back. As soon as the door closed she said
" well it missed everything that's important "
Then smiled she looked at Buck and said
" you fell asleep go get a coffee both of you I think Maddie can look after me for a few minutes "
" yeah she can't run too fast "
Chimney said and they left the room. I sat on the bed and said

I moved and hugged her and she let out a sound of pain
