Ryan looked up at Carlos as Alex set her down. "Go check on Sophie and Ky." The older man shuffled down the hall, passing Aki who was walking into the room.
He stuck his hands in his pockets. "Anything new?"
"Ryan just gave the most wicked death threat to the five in the woods."
Aki laughed. "Nice. Anything else?"
"We still need to find the new owner." Ryan's voice turned low, speaking just slow enough to disturb those who weren't used to it. "As of right now, that's our only tangible advantage."
"Since we lost Cooper?"
"Since we lost Cooper."
A smile grew onto Alex's face. "I can think of another way we can get the upper hand," he teased.
The three kept speaking as Carlos stiffly walked through the halls, making his way through the castle.
Go check on Sophie and - STOP - Ky.

Go check on S-THIS ISN'T RIGHT-ophie and Ky.
He found himself in front of a large wood door. He knocked twice before sliding a key from his pocket into the keyhole, turning it, and pushing open the door.
He found the room empty. He removed the key, replaced it into his pocket, and walked further into the room, looking around.
The door slammed behind him.
