Noah spun, shaking out his arm. "Fuck."
"Language."
"Kilan." He grabbed a knife. "So nice of you to sneak up on me like that. Again."
"What can I say?" She moved her hands and the fire twisted into a flaming sword. "I'm a sneaky, sneaky girl." The two started to circle around each other slowly. "I'm just so good at scaring people."
"Asshole."
"Prick."
"Bitch."
"Self-centered-"
"Stop insulting yourself, sweetie, it's not a good look on you."
Ryan scoffed, lunging towards Noah. He took a step back, grinning. "Oh? Is Ryan angry at me, now?"
"I won't hesitate to kill you, Defi."
"Didn't expect you to." He took another step back. "Nor did I ask you to."
She smirked. "I know you don't want to die."
"There's a difference between preference and wanting and currently, I'd prefer to stay alive, but," he shrugged, "don't really have much control over that. What am I gonna do about it?"
"Are you always this chatty?" She took another swipe, getting dangerously close to Noah's arm. "Or is it because you're scared?"
"Chill out a bit, will you? And take your ego down a few thousand notches while your at it. It's called distracting." He watched Ryan look around, confused, and took his chance to dodge behind her and wrap his arm around her neck, holding her in place. "For example; what I just did."
"Fuck you."
"I'm gonna ignore that. Drop the sword." She did so, unimpressed. "Where's Alex and Aki? And what happened with Cooper?"
She forced a laugh. "What's got you hung up on that boy, Defi? You know, I would have said you were about as dumb as you look, but it turns out you're dumber."
He tightened his grip. "Tell me. Now."
