Noah slashed through the ropes around Chrysie's wrist, pulling them to a standing position as Cooper spun, quickly unsheathing his sword. "Well, hey there."
"Oh, we're fighting already? I would have saved it for later, but alright I guess." Ryan flashed a wicked smile, sword in hand. "Always a great day to kill someone."
She made a stab for Cooper's chest, causing him to jump back. "Take Chrysie and run!" Metal scraped against metal as he pushed his sword against Ryan's.
"Are you insane?" Noah yelled
"A little, but I'm also trying to keep you two safe!" He glanced over his shoulder. "Now go!"
Chrysie grabbed Noah and sprinted down the hall. "Okay first of all: I got my memories back, so thanks for that. Second: I agree with...what's his name?"
"Cooper."
"Yeah, him. He's insane. Brave, but insane."
"And insanely cute," Noah mumbled.
"What?"
"Nothing. Can we stop running?"
"I wish, but no."
"No because it's not safe or not because you can't?"
"Both."
"Do what you want." The two of them slowed to a walk.
"So who else is here?"
"Cooper's brother Sean, Jason, April, someone named Koko, and Sophia."
"As in Princess Sophia?"
"That's the one...or the two? I guess? But yes, Princess Sophia."
"I'm not even gonna ask how you managed that."
"Good, because I still don't really know."
There was silence. "So where are we going exactly?"
Noah shrugged. "I have no clue. Just avoiding everyone, I guess."
"What's everyone else doing?"
"Koko and Sophia are going to check on the royal family, and Sean, Jason, and April are trying to shut down the Watchers."
"And you were planning on doing...what exactly, afterwards?"
"Regroup outside, in the courtyard."
"When?"
"Sunset."
Chrysie pulled him to a window, holding up her hand. "Thirty minutes to go." She glanced up at him. "What do you want to do?"
"What I want to do or what we should do?"
"Elaborate."
"What I want is to go and help Cooper, but that might put him in more danger, so we should go and hide. Wait for everyone else to show up."
"Then what?"
"Then...we leave, hopefully with everyone that was trapped here. Come back later once we're more prepared. Is there anyone other that who I listed in here?"
"Not that I can think of."
"Come on." They made their way carefully to the courtyard, the sky a mix of purple, orange and red.
It wouldn't be the only red thing at the end of the night.
