Noah heard someone yell. Then Cooper shouting "No!". Then a blinding pain in his shoulder.
He shut his eyes as his arm went numb and he stumbled a bit, gasping for air. His ears were ringing and he crashed to the ground sideways, hand pressed to his shoulder. Noah could see twisting orange flames as he blinked rapidly.
He saw someone kneeling over him, a red line on their neck. They were muttering something he couldn't hear. He shut his eyes again, the pain echoing through his body and he could feel his heart beating quickly in his ears. He took another shaky breath.
His mind was a train wreck, all his thoughts were crashing onto each other and screaming in his head and he just wanted it to stop, to go away, he didn't want to feel the pain anymore, he didn't want to feel anything, he could hear the voices shouting at each other, at him, at everything, he just wanted to let it all go, let go and just fall into the quietness and peace of death.
So he did.
