5 Years Later.
It had been five years since Damian left. It was never the same after that. Jon had become an entirely different person after he left the Manor to go home. He focused on his studies and graduated to be a journalist. Lois and Clark couldn't be more proud of their son, but there was something wrong. Jon changed, he became more negative as a person. He only uses the kind, happy Jon as a facade nowadays for his parents and other people... but he's a person who had lost all hope. The love of his life was unfairly stolen from him, and he blamed the world for that.
Jack tried his best to take care of Jon during his best friend's absence but, the pain and grief consumed Jon. Even Jack couldn't reach him now... but he doesn't give up. Jon had started to work in the Daily planet with his parents. He still lived with his parents, even though they did suggest for him to move out, to experience the world on his own. But he didn't want to move, he didn't want to do anything in life when something dug a big hole in which he can never refill. He would always stay in his room, only leaving it to eat during the night, so Lois made sure she made Jon dinner before her and Clark would sleep.
Jon found it hell at being alone. Whenever Clark and Lois were away, thoughts about Damian overwhelmed him to the point where he started to blame him for the pain he is feeling. He never talked about it with anyone and would constantly push Jack away whenever he tries to talk to him about him. Jack once visited as often as possible but now... he rarely can visit. He's been away more often in missions. Jack's hard at work with dismantling the league of assassins. Dick still worked with Jack although he had moved out with Kori. Konner had become a couple with Tim and moved in with him in the Manor with Bruce's blessings. Jack decided to move back in the manor in order to increase efficiency on his mission and to keep the rest of the family company because Dick had moved out.
Metropolis... Sunday night.
"Hey, thanks for coming with me." Jon said as he fixed his glasses, pushing it up the bridge of his nose as he walked.
"Hey, anytime bud." Jack replied. "Where are we going anyway?"
"Star Labs." Jon said. "There's a big press conference, Dr. Stone's holding."
"So... why did you need me... exactly?" Jack asked. "Is it just so you can get near him, isn't it? For your interview?"
"It's not like that, Jack." Jon replied, annoyed. "Can't I spend time with my best friend?"
"Just making sure..." Jack smiled back. "Hey, wanna get some ice cream?" he pointed at Jon's favorite Ice-cream shop.
"Sure!" Jon said gleefully as they made their way to the store. They entered and Jack stood in the line as Jon sat.
"Hi. One large cup, of double-double chocolate-chocolate ice-cream with chocolate sprinkles on the bottom and top and another large cup of cookie dough Ice-cream." Jack said. He paid for the ice-cream. After waiting, he received their order and headed to Jon. "Here you go bud." He said as he handed him his ice cream.
"Mmmnn... How d'you know my order?" Jon asked.
"You never stopped nagging me about it." Jack smirked. "Come on, let's go. Don't want to miss that press conference now do we?" Jon nodded as they began to head over to Star labs. Luckily, they arrived on time.
"Welcome, Everyone." Dr. Stone began. "Here, today at Star Labs, we have discovered something new. Something, rare." He walked over to something that was covered by a cloth. "Introducing..." he said as he uncovered to reveal an exo-skeleton armor. "World's first functioning exo-skeleton armor. Our soldiers, can use it for any scaled invasion, this universe has to offer. They could also help our heroes, the Justice League in any battle."
