Dick ran, carrying Jack's body up the stairs and and laid him on the stretcher.

"Oh my god!" Kori gasped as she stood up, in complete shock. "Oh, Jack..."

"Damian, get me a towel." He ordered him. It has been a while since Damian saw such seriousness in Dick's eyes as he looked at him, determined.

"Ye-yeah..." Damian quickly ran.

"Why Jack?" Dick eyed the massive hole that melted his head. "Why would you do this?!"

"Dick..." Kori placed her hand on Dick's shoulder.

"Damn it!" He pounded his fist on the stretcher. "When will he listen?!"

"Dick..." Kori said softly. Damian came running back with a black towel to Dick's request. He took the towel and covered Jack's head, so that no one will have to look at the horrible scene. Damian turned his head to see Zatanna gently using magic to transport Jon as they made their way into a Zeta tube.

"Go." Dick simply said. "He needs you right now... I can look after Jack." He placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Okay." Damian nodded as he made his way to Zatanna. He looked at Jon, then looked at Zatanna. "Is he?"

"No." Zatanna reassured him. "Although his injuries are severe. We need to get to the Watchtower medical wards."

"Understood." Damian nodded.

A Few Hours Later.

They rushed Jon into the emergency ward of the Watchtower. The onboard doctors immediately began operating on Jon, tending to his injuries. Damian sat outside the surgical theater, anxious about his beloved.

"Damian." Lois sat next to him. "Are you okay?"

"I'm sorry Mrs. Kent." he immediately apologized.

"For what?"

"I couldn't protect him..." Damian's voice broke as he covered his face.

"Hey, it's not your fault." Lois held Damian's hand. "Jon's strong... he's going to pull through."

"I see where he gets it from..." He smiled lightly.

"What?"

"His hope." Damian replied, rubbing his eyes. "His never ending hope on people." Suddenly, the door to the operating theater opened as the Doctor approached them.

"Mr. Wayne, Mrs. Kent." He started to take out his gloves. "Jonathan is fine. He is in stable condition." He announced.

"Oh, thank god." Lois sighed in relief. "When is he going to wake up?"

"We are still running tests..." The Doctor informed them. "We will get back to you as soon as we have the results."

"Can we see him?" Damian asked him.

"We are prepping him to transfer into a medical ward." The Doctor smiled. "You can keep the patient company there for the time being as we analyze the results."

"Thank you." Lois thanked him as they exchanged smiles, before she walked away, leaving Lois and Damian alone. They both sat down once again. A few minutes later, the doors opened, nurses wheeled out a medical bed, with Jon lying unconscious on it.

"Jon." Damian immediately stood up as he followed the nurses as they made their way to the room for Jon. Lois followed as the Nurses settled their patient as comfortably as possible. Damian pulled up a chair for him and Lois as they both sat down, on either bedside of Jon. Both were silent as they eyed the person most important to them. Beeping from the heart rate monitor showing Jon's slow heart beat filled the room. Damian held his beloved's hand, leaning his forehead against his hand. "Beloved..." he said softly, hoping for a response.
