Damian and Jon walked over to Jack who arrived in the suit chambers room. Jack walked in, and pressed a button to which the suit chamber rotated, revealing his suit.
"Last time I saw Darkseid..." Jack began as Damian and Jon stood beside him. "He said he'll destroy you... both of you... for the humiliation... I knew right there and then I had to destroy him..." He took his mask. "No matter how much I died."
"Jack..." Damian said, silently.
"I don't care." Jack glared at his mask. "Not anymore... I can die how many times... as long as all of you are breathing and still living in this world..."
"Jack." Damian placed a hand on his shoulder. "There you go again.... welcoming death..." He started his lecture.
"Dami, bud-"
"No, Jack!" Damian chided. "You've got a family! It's your responsibility to make it out of this war that's coming... For your Family! For Cissie! For Steven!"
"Dami-"
"You have something to fight for!" Damian continued. "Remember that!"
"I-I know..." Jack lowered his head. "But all of those families... if it happened to us..."
"We won't let that happen, Jack." Jon approached him. "This time. We'll protect our families. This time... You. Will. Live." Jon cradled Jack's cheek. "We will not lose anyone... especially not you. Not again."
"You both haven't given up on me?" He looked at the both of them.
"Never." They replied in unison.
"heh." Jack chuckled. "Thanks."
"We missed you." Jon rubbed his back.
"And we're going to do everything to keep you..." Damian smirked. "So you can also live a happy like... like us."
"You gave us two beautiful children." Jon smiled. "And we both look to you as our brother... we both failed you once... we won't do it again."
"Failed me?" Jack raised a brow.
"We didn't see, Jack." Jon lowered his head. "We didn't see it..." Jack's eyes widened as he shook his head. "If we saw what-"
"It wasn't your fault." Jack raised his head. "Don't blame yourself... It was mine... I was the one who got caught with his blade. It was my fault, no one else's..."
"Jack..." Jon became teary eyed.
"What's important... I got home..." Jack hugged him. "After fighting... I finally got home." Jon nodded as he sniffled.
"Recognized. Batboy. B-4-2." the zeta tube announced as Steven emerged. He quickly went to the suit chamber room to see Jon, Damian and his dad, chatting to themselves.
"You know..." Jack began, still not knowing Steven was walking up to them. "I was so fixated at the fact nobody needed me around anymore when I died the first time..."
"Why's that?" Damian asked. "Your son-"
"My son's in his good hands." Jack smiled. "He's the greatest thing I created... and he's being trained by the best men I know..." He placed his hand on both Jon and Damian's shoulder. "In this war... If I were to die... again... At least I'll be at peace... because, I at least got to see you and my family again... especially my son." He chuckled.
"Why do you always have to sacrifice yourself?" Damian asked, worried.
"Because... I can take it." Jack reasoned. "Look. I know I may be asking too much... but... If I die... again... watch over them... okay? My family?"
