The 2nd generation Titans + Jack and Jon entered the Batwing as Jack prepped for take off. Something was off with Jon as he sat. Damian sat next to his beloved, growing worried for him.
"Jon..." Damian said softly, stroking his hair.
"I like it when you do that." Jon snuggled against Damian as he kept stroking his hair. An hour into the flight, Jon had fallen asleep once again as Damian stood up to let him rest.
"He fell asleep again?" Gar pointed at Jon as Raven was snuggled against him.
"Yeah." Damian simply replied.
"I'm not surprised." Gar released a small chuckle. Damian then went to the cockpit and sat next to Jack, who was busy flying the Batwing.
"I guess you didn't just sit next to me for a hug, bud." Jack smirked, not taking his eyes off the skies. "Can I get a hug?" He asked.
"TT. you're annoying." Damian scoffed, crossing his arms.
"What can I say? I love hugs..." Jack admitted. "So... what's up?"
"It's Jon." Damian relaxed his muscles as he let it rest beside him. "Something's unusual about him."
"He's worried..." Jack replied. "He always does... even for me when I used to be gone for weeks on missions to get you back without contacting him."
"But-"
"He once lectured me for 2 hours... then cried." Jack pointed out. "Then got mad at me for a week... I disappeared again for another week... then he went to meet me in the manor, saying he was so worried then cried." He patted Damian's shoulder. "He's him..."
"No, Jack..." Damian shook his head. "Something's... different... like something's... oppressing him."
"We all felt it in the cave, bud." Jack pointed out. "We all felt the shivers..."
"But Jon felt it, while he was still in the Batwing." Damian turned his head to look at him. "The look on his eyes... he was... scared." He admitted.
"Okay, okay...." Jack nodded. "We should have a look at him after the mission... sound good?"
"Ye-yeah..."
"Go... he needs you." Jack said, softly.
"Right." Damian stood up as he went to sit next to Jon, who immediately rested his head on his lap to sleep comfortably. It made Damian smile as he began to stroke his hair as he slept.
Some time Later, A town outside of Rome.
Jack landed the Batwing just outside the town, a couple of blocks from their target location. They all made their way to the abandoned church that was recently closed down because of dark rituals held by people who worshiped Trigon, Raven's father. They entered from the back, where immediately all of them began to be overwhelmed by malevolent energy that surrounded the place.
"Ughh..." Gar stuck out his tongue. "I feel weird."
"Hold my hand." Raven held his hand. "It can be weird."
"Dami." Jon called to him. Damian immediately held his boyfriend's hand.
"We're in this together... right?" Damian looked at him, giving him a faint smile. Jon smiled back as they made their way to the basement of the church. Jack shook his head as he walked, shaking the malevolent energy off of him.
"Jack, hold my hand." Jon extended his hand to him.
"I'm fine, bud." Jack kept on walking, lighting the way with a flashlight.
