2 Weeks Later, Christmas Eve. 7:00 pm.
Damian held what looked like a ring box, looking at it briefly before hiding it on his bedside drawer. He headed out of his room, and into the Batcave. He saw Jack with a basket, filled with what looked like food.
"What is that?" Damian pointed at the basket on his hand.
"Food." Jack smiled, approaching him. "Let's spend Christmas with Jon."
"Oh..." Damian lowered his head.
"Hey..." Jack held his chin, raising his head. "Jon loves Christmas... right?"
"He does... Damian lightly smiled. Jack quickly hugged him before gathering more stuff. "Jack, we're not having a feast up there..." He complained.
"Hey, you never know... he might wake up to the smell of the turkey..." He smiled. Damian lightly smiled, remembering how much Jon loves food. "Did Alfred make this?" He looked at the basket.
"The legend himself." He looked at Alfred, who was discussing something with Bruce at the computer. "I helped him."
"No, you didn't." Alfred called out.
"Does watching count as help?" Jack asked Damian.
"Heh. you're an idiot." He released a silent chuckle, turning around shaking his head. "No."
"Right..." Jack finally picked up the basket. "Mr. and Mrs. Kent will join us... it's their son after all..."
"Right..." Damian said lowly, his face was still gloomy, and sad.
"Hey, cheer up..." Jack try to lift up the mood. "It's Christmas."
"My boyfriend's in a coma, and I don't even know if he'll wake up." He glared. He saw Jack's mood change, as he also lowered his head. "I'm sorry..." He approached Jack.
"No... you're right." Jack's voice broke. "This might be a bad idea..."
"No, it isn't." Damian placed a hand on Jack's shoulder, to reassure him. "Jon loves Christmas... remember?"
"Yeah..." Jack raised his head, smiling. "Yes he does... and he loves it more when he spends Christmas with you..." He pulled him in for a hug. "Hey... don't be sad..." He wiped a tear from Damian's face, the he himself didn't realize he shed.
"I'm sorry..." Damian whimpered as he bit his bottom lip as he began to tremble, trying to hold back his emotions.
"Come here..." Jack said softly as he wrapped his arms around Damian, hugging him close. "I know... you're hurting, Dami... this... is never easy..."
"Di-did you ever deal with loss?" Damian asked him.
"No." Jack sadly admitted. "Come on... Jon's waiting for us." He gave a comforting kiss to Damian's forehead. "Dick's also coming..."
"Okay..." Damian nodded as he pulled back from their embrace. They both headed to the Watchtower.
"Recognised, Robin. Z-0-9. Orothos. Z-1-3." the zeta tube announced as they emerged at the medical wing of the Watchtower, to avoid all of the 'unwanted pity' as Damian described it. They made their way to Jon's ward. Jon lied peacefully on the bed. Machines made light beeping sounds as Jack entered and rested the food basket on the desk beside Jon's bed.
"Hey bud." Jack said softly as he patted Jon's hand. Damian rested the table sheets and another basket filled with drinks on the ground by the doors. He immediately pulled up a chair for him and Jack.
"Hello, beloved." Damian said softly as he laid a kiss on Jon's forehead. He sat down and held his hand, placing it on his cheek, feeling his soft cheek. He could feel the warmness of his skin, confirming that he's still well.
