Jennie's POV

There was a moment of dead silence after Lisa said those words so suddenly.

"Stop with these jokes, Lisa. It's not funny," I said seriously, but Lisa only sighed.

"I'm not joking. My dad and her mom are business partners, so Dad told me they're coming back this week," she explained. My chest felt tight at that moment. I was scared and excited at the same time. I snapped out of my thoughts when Chaeyoung caressed my back.

"You're thinking too much. It'll be alright," she reassured me. I weakly hummed in response. I didn't know what I would say when we faced each other. I wasn't sure if she still loved me...

"Come on, Jennie. It's been 6 years," Lisa abruptly said, causing me to glare at her.

"What is it to you, Manoban? I love her and only her," I mumbled the last part, feeling like tearing up. I got up and went upstairs.

"The company needs me, so I'll go get ready," I shouted and took a shower. I wanted to see her soon.

...

This should be okay. It's not like I'm trying to impress someone today or anything. I sighed when I heard giggles behind me. I turned around and saw the idiotic couple.

"Damn, CEO Kim is hot," Chaeyoung commented, and Lisa hummed in response.

"I've always been hot," I said as I flipped my hair. That's right, I'm always hot.

"Yeah, you're too hot to the point where y/n left you," Lisa said and ran outside, laughing.

"You bitch, I'll murder you!" I was about to run after her, but Chaeyoung stopped me, grinning.

"You're already late," Chae reminded me, causing my eyes to widen. I quickly ran downstairs and headed to the garage. Fuck.

...

As I entered the company, I was greeted with hellos and good mornings. I went into my office and saw my secretary holding some paperwork.

"Good morning, Miss," my secretary Suelgi greeted. I just hummed in response and went to sit.

"Is there any meeting today?" I asked as I worked on some paperwork.

"No, Miss. Your schedule is empty today," Suelgi informed me. I sighed in relief and relaxed in my seat. Finally, no meetings. I should probably get some coffee later.

"Thank you, Suelgi. You may go now," I said, and Suelgi left. Suelgi is indeed a pretty woman, but she's not y/n...

Minutes of sitting and doing paperwork were really boring. It was a good time for a coffee. I stood up and looked for my assistant.

"Hey, Suelgi. I'll just get some coffee. Would you mind keeping an eye on my work?" Suelgi nodded and went back to work, while I happily headed out. Freedom!

I walked happily on the streets, excited to get some coffee. But I suddenly stopped when I saw a child crying. She must be lost. I approached her and knelt down.

"Hey there, are you lost?" I asked. This little girl looked familiar.

"I can't find my mommy," she said through her sobs. What kind of parent lets their child wander around here?

"I'm Jennie Kim. What's your name, cutie?" I asked while wiping her tears.

"Ruby," she said weakly. I smiled and offered my hand.

"Let's find your mommy, okay?" She nodded and held my hand.

"Ruby!" Ruby let go of my hand and ran.

"Ah, wait!" I

froze in my spot. She was here... the person I had been wanting to see all these years.

"Jennie! This is my mommy, Y/n!"
