The Debutante

This day is the day when the world introduces me HAHAHA! The party starts at 6 PM and it's already 8 AM now.

"Tine, Happy Birthday!"

"Thank you, Yanni"

So many of my cousins are greeting me, my phone is ringing non-stop.

"Excited ka na sa party mamaya?"

"Yes, Yanni, sobrang excited!"

I'm super duper excited, but before the party, I plan to visit Mommy at her resting place with Daddy.

"Tine, good morning, happy birthday, my princess."

He hugged me and smiled. Daddy has no work today because it's my birthday. Every birthday, it's like a company holiday because the employees also visit.

"Thank you, Daddy. By the way, 10 AM po natin pupuntahan si Mommy?"

"Yes, before we go there, let's just buy flowers for your Mom."

"Yesss, Daddy, excited na ako, yieee! It's been a month since my last visit to Mommy."

Mommy is buried in San Antonio, so it's a bit far from us. I only get to visit her sometimes, especially since I've been sick.

"Kain na kayo, eto handa na yung umagahan."

We had breakfast together, and I told Daddy about Earn. He said that before Earn confessed to me, he already talked to Daddy.

"Tine, by 3 PM, the makeup artist will be here, ha" Yanni said.

"Sure, Yanni. We'll be back before lunch, Daddy and I."

After that, I went to the garden for some fresh air.

"Happy Birthday, Hella."

Yieee, I hope everyone is greeting me.

"Thank you, Earn."

"So, see you later."

"Yes, see you later."

"Don't forget your lunch, okay? And don't stress yourself."

"Yes, Sir, HAHAHAHA"

I just ended the call when my phone rang again. This time it's Alana and the girls.

"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday, happy birthday, Christine!"

They sang together, HAHAHA! It seems like they practiced.

"Tine, Happy Birthday!" Alana said.

"Yieee, legal age na ang Atii, pwede na!" Fajra said.

"Thank you, girls."

"Tine, you know Earn was stuck on what to get you for a gift. We bought it on our last day of the trip, and your bebe couldn't decide" Alizah explained.

"HAHAHA wee."

"It seems like our loverboy is ready, ha" Lona said.

"Nubakayo. Basta, see you later, okay? Thank you again, love youuu."

After the call, thankfully, no one else called. I took a bath so we could leave with Daddy. The travel time is 30 minutes.

"Hi, Mommy, na miss kitaaa."

"Mommy, look, it's my birthday, oh. Sayang wala ka."

Daddy put the flowers we brought on Mommy's resting place. It's been a lot of years since I've been with Mommy. I haven't even felt what it's like to be called Mommy, to be truly cared for by a mother. I wish I experienced those things.
