DA-R7H met Gonk in one of the rooms in the Senate's building. Gonk had never been in these quarters before and found it rather nice to stand and look out the window. The landscape of Coruscant was so different from what Gonk had grown up with on Tatooine.

"Gonk?" Gonk said. Gonk wondered where DA-R7H had started out.

"Beep," said DA-R7H.

"Gonk." Gonk had sometimes wished Gonk had grown up on Coruscant. Gonk imaged Gonkhood being fun knowing the Jedi lived in the same place as Gonk, or that Gonk might have been able to shuffle past a Jedi in the streets.

DA-R7H gave a deep whistle and rolled to the other side of the room. There was a plug to get charged there and the droid offered Gonk a turn.

"Gonk," Gonk said. Gonk hadn't charged in a long time. The Force kept Gonk fully tuned and ready to go now.

"Gonk. Gonk. Gonk?" Gonk said as DA-R7H joined Gonk by the window.

With a whistle, DA-R7H told Gonk that DA-R7H had always been with Palpatine for as long as DA-R7H could remember. Gonk couldn't help but get a little jealous. Gonk's first owner hadn't cared much about Gonk - they had not even noticed Gonk had left with the Jedi and Queen Amidala!

DA-R7H asked Gonk how things were going in the Temple and Gonk told Gonk's friend everything was going fine. The war effort was troublesome for the peaceful ways of the Jedi, but everyone was finding ways to make it work.

"Beep?" DA-R7H asked.

"Gonk. Gonk. Gonk?" Gonk told DA-R7H that Anakin was doing very well, then wondered aloud why the other droid had asked about him.

A whistle came in response as DA-R7H explained DA-R7H was just interested about Anakin since he was a friend of the Chancellor's. Apparently Palaptine spoke very highly of Anakin, and Gonk was not one bit surprised.

"Gonk," Gonk said. Anakin was a very good Jedi and a great friend.

DA-R7H whistled, then spoke to Gonk about all manner of droid things until it was time for Gonk to return to the Temple. There were some Jedi jobs Gonk had to get on with, and DA-R7H had Palpatine to attend to.

"Beep," DA-R7H said.

"Gonk," Gonk answered simply. Gonk was aware there was an opening on the Council, but Gonk hadn't heard any news of who was to fill it. "Gonk." Gonk didn't know any Jedi who wouldn't make a good Master, yet Gonk secretly hoped Qui-Gon would be chosen.

The way that DA-R7H whistled in response gave Gonk a very bad feeling. Gonk wasn't sure why, but it sounded almost as if DA-R7H knew who was going to get the seat on the Council.

On Gonk's way back to the Jedi Temple, Gonk bumped into Anakin as he was leaving Palpatine's office. The Jedi smiled and gave Gonk a friendly pat on the top of Gonk's square body.

The arrival of Gonk's friend was comforting. Gonk had sensed something was off while being in the Senate Building. Gonk couldn't quite place what Gonk had felt, but Gonk knew Gonk would report it to Qui-Gon or Obi-Wan when Gonk got back to the Temple.
