it's a funny thing,
nostalgia.
one moment you're living, experiencing, taking in the world with a breath and holding it until your face turns blue.
the happy, carefree mind of a child has no use for looking back and reminiscing on what they have done.
but one day,
you wake up and are overcome with dreams, wishes, desperation for what once was.
nostalgia haunts you.
you can never truly turn back time.
you cannot change the past.
and the fear of missing out,
knowing you could have been more,
felt more,
seen more,
is crushing.
there is immense sadness in what you have lost.
