Ski

I was in the front of the school with Adam. We were walking to the middle of the school. I was really nervous because of that new team. They all go to this school and I don't want them to think I'm mean. Most people think since I'm from the Hawks I'm mean, and I hate that.

"Why, it's the Banks twins." We heard someone say. We looked over and saw the jocks and cheerleaders. Adam dated one of them, of course.

Her names is Sarah Johnson. One of the most popular girls ever at this school. She's even popular in other schools because of her friends. They came over to us.

"Adam." Sarah snapped.

"Sarah." Adam snapped.

"Hey, Ski." One of the big jocks said. His names Aaron Heart. Every girl loves him. Well, except for me. And guess who he likes.

Me.

"Aaron." I snapped.

"Come on, you gotta stop with the playing." He said as he walked closer to me.

"I'm not playing games."

"You are. You are just trying to get me jealous." He said. I looked at him.

"How? I'm with my brother. Not another guy. Anyway, I don't like you." I replied.

"Sure you don't." He said. I nodded.

"I don't. And get away from me." I said pushing him. He tripped backwards. But caught himself.

"So Hockey Girl's acting tough huh?" He asked. The school bell rang.

Now I get the meaning of "saved by the bell".

"I got to go. Goodbye. Come on, Adam. We start with science class." I said. We started to leave. "Man, I hate the jocks."

"And I hate the cheerleaders." He added in.

"Courtney's a cheerleader." I said. He paused.

"Except for her. She's an exception." He replied. I laughed.

"Man, you really like her." Adam nodded happily.

"Yeah. She's pretty and sweet and nice." He explained. I nodded. We walked inside the class. When we walked in. I saw all the District 5 team stop what they were doing and stare at us. We stared at them back. I looked over and saw Charlie. He kind of smiled at me. I didn't though.

"Come on Ski, let's sit down." Adam said grabbing my arm. I nodded. We walked over to our seat. I put my backpack down and sat down. Our science teacher Mr. Klean came in.

"Hello class." He said. He went behind his desk and sat down. "Let's do the attendance. Alright. Les."

"Here."

"Adam."

"Here."

"Ski."

"Here."

"Charlie."

"Morning."

"Connie."

"Yeah."

"Peter."

"What?"

"Dave."

"Huh."

"Tommy."

"Here."

"Tammy."

"Hey."

"Fulton." Mr. Klean said. I heard a grunt. "Alright, Guy."

"Here!"

"Greg."

"Yeah Mr. Kling." He said. Mr. Klean looked up at Greg and sighed.

"Klean, Greg, like clean." Mr. Klean said.

"Oh, right, sorry." Greg apologized.

"Jesse."

"Here sir."

"And Terry."

"Hi."

"Alright. Let's start." Mr. Klean said. We heard knocking at the door. Mr. Klean looked over. "Oh, that's the principal. I'll be right back." He got up and went to the door. He opened it, walked out, then closed it.

"So, you're a Hawk." I heard one of them say.

Jesse.

I just looked straight forward. "Answer the question." He snapped. I ignored him. He got up and went to the my desk. I saw Adam get up.

"Hey, get away from her." Adam snapped. "Ski, come here." He demanded. I got up and went to him.

"So what? You beat us at a hockey game. It was our first game. Yeah, you have it on the ice, but we have street smarts...."
