Ski

I was in my room doing homework. I was also playing music on my radio. It was playing Loser by Beck, which is one of my favorite bands. "Sixty-six divided by eleven is six plus fifty-seven equals.... Sixty-four.... No, sixty-three." I said to myself. I wrote down my answer.

"Ski! Emily and Alex is here!" I heard my mom yell. I put down my pencil got got up from my chair.

"Alright!" I yelled back.

Emily is Alex's younger adopted sister. She is younger by three months. I ran out of my room and went to the front door. I saw Emily and Alex. "Hey guys. What's up?" I asked.

"We were wondering if you can hang out today?" Emily asked.

"Yeah, I'm doing homework if you wanna hang out in my room." I said.

"Alright." Emily said. They both walked in.

"Is Adam here?" Alex asked.

"No, he's hanging out with Stafford." I replied. He put his head down an nodded a little. "But," I continued. "If you wanna stay and hang out with us you can." I insisted. He looked up at me.

I was really hoping he would say yes.

"Yeah, sure." He said. We all walked to my room. They walked in and I closed the door. Emily walked over to my desk and picked up a paper. She looked at me.

"What's this?" She asked. She held up the paper and it says "I ❤️ Alex" on it. I looked at Alex and he was looking at a poster of The Dallas Stars hockey team on the wall. I tuned around and ran to Emily. I got the paper. "You like him?" She asked.

"Like who?" Alex asked. We both looked at him.

"Oh, no one. Just a celebrity." I said. He looked at me with a smile. I did a nervous smile.

"Is it someone on our team?" He asked.

"Yeah." I sighed.

"Who. I won't tell him." He said. I looked at Emily. She was just staring at me. I looked back at him.

"Can't tell anyone. I'm sorry." I said. He nodded. "Hey, let's go ice skating on the lake. I can finish homework later." They nodded.

"Great. I brought my hockey bag because of practice today." Alex said.

Practice!

"I totally forgot I had practice today. Thanks for the wake up call." We all started to laugh.
