Adam

I heard the door bell ring. I got up and walked over to the door. "Please be Courtney." I whispered. I opened the door. It was Emily. She smiled.

"Oh, hi Adam." She said shyly.

"Hey Emily." I sighed. She smiled as she put her hair behind her ear.

"Ski didn't tell me you were here." She said.

"Well, I kinda live here." She started to laugh. I heard Ski come walking up.

"Hey Emily. Come inside." She insisted. I moved out of the way so she can come in. I closed the door behind her. They both walked out to the couch and sat down.

I walked over to the front of the couch but stayed standing. I started to zone out thinking about Courtney.

Why couldn't she be here now?

"Adam..." I heard Ski whispered in a frustrated voice. I zoned back in and looked up.

"What?" I asked.

"Emily asked you a question." Ski whispered again.

"Oh, uh, sorry. What did you ask?" I asked. Right when Emily was about to say something, there was a knock at the door. "Sorry, excuse me." I said in the nicest way I could. I walked over to the door and opened it. It was Saby.

"Hey Adam." She said. I smiled.

"Hey Saby, come on in." I said. I moved out the way again and had Saby walk in.

Every girl that Ski was friends with was here except for Courtney. It was Emily, Saby, Nicole, Ally, Connie (the girl from our team, Ski and her instantly became friend), Tina, Ocean and Jen was here.

I was guessing it was a sleepover because they all came in with overnight bags. Another knock at the door.

"I got it." I walked over to the door and opened it. Finally, Courtney was here. "Hey Courtney." She smiled at me.

"Hey Adam. Ski here?" She asked.

"Yeah, she over there. Let me take your bag." I insisted.

"Thanks Adam. That's very nice of you." I grabbed her bag as she walked in and I closed the door. Courtney joined in with the other girls.

"Wow Courtney. You're so lucky Adam likes you." I heard Ally say.

"Yeah! Why don't you like him?" Jen asked.

"I don't know. I need to get to know him more." She said. Know me more? I have known Courtney for about six years. Two years after she moved from Tennessee. I put her bag by the other girls bags and went back into the living room.

I went through the field of girls and finally got to the couch to sit down and watch TV. Right when I sat down, Emily and Nicole rushed over to me and sat down next to me, both of them putting their heads on my shoulder.

I rolled my eyes. I heard Courtney start to giggle when they did that. That kind of made me laugh too, because when Courtney's happy, I'm happy.
