Ski
I caught up with Adam and Mom. We walked out of the front door, starting to make our way to the car. Mom opened the trunk. Adam and I put our things in the trunk and we got into the car. I climbed in the back. I buckled up, then looked out the window, waiting for Mom to get in the car.
"Thinking about your crush, Ski?" Adam asked teasingly. I kicked his chair hard.
"Shut up!" I yelled. Mom got in the car and looked at me quickly.
"Hey, no saying 'shut up' in the Banks family." Mom snapped. I sighed. Adam looked at me with a smug look.
"Fine. Shut your big mouth." Adam stopped giving me a smug look, and started to give me a dirty look.
"Better." Mom stated. We all started to laugh. Mom started the car, then we started to head out of the driveway. Adam and I always fight and Mom is always there to make us laugh and see how stupid it was to fight over the littlest things. Dad is there to help Adam and me play hockey. He takes us down the the lake sometimes to practice.
I go down there so I can hang out with Courtney. She lives right by the lake with her dad. Her mom and little sister, Dawn, died back in Courtney's hometown in Tennessee from a car crash.
Courtney doesn't have a lot of friends, so I go down there to hang out with her while Adam goes down there just to look at her and try to hold her hand, but fails every time.
Adam has been crushing on Courtney for a while now, but she doesn't really like him. She kind of does, but not as much as Adam. My other friends thinks she is crazy when I told them.
If you don't think that Adam has a crush on Courtney, I have proof.
"Hey Mom, can I go ice skating with Courtney tonight?" I asked. There was a little pause.
"Sure, sweetie." Mom answered.
"Can I come?" Adam asked right after Mom answered. I smirked.
Here it comes.
"Why? She's my friend." I asked. Adam paused.
"Well uh, I need to watch you. There are other hockey players that jump hockey player from uh, different teams..." He said in an unsure manner. The car fell silent. I was trying my best not to laugh.
"Admit it, Adam. You like her!" I demanded. The car came to a stop, then Mom looked at both of us.
"We're here. See you guys later!" Mom said with a smile. Adam and I got out of the car quickly and walked over to the trunk, getting our things out. After we got our bags and sticks, Adam closed the trunk.
"I don't know what you are talking about." Adam said, throwing the strap from the bag over his shoulder. I did the same thing, and we started to walk to the ice rink.
"I do, and you do, too. Every time I say I'm going to hang out with Courtney, you wanna come." I implied. We walked into the ice rink. Adam moved his shoulders like he was getting uncomfortable, death gripping his strap.
"No, I do that to every girl." Adam stated. I rolled my eyes.
"All my friends like you Adam, and you know that. When I saw I'm going to hang out with Emily, Crystal, Brookie, Jamie, Tina, Sabrina or Kelly, you don't even wanna bother. But when I say Courtney, bam! You're Prince Charming on his horse to go pick up his princess." I said loudly. Adam looked like he was really mad, but then he sighed and looked to his left, away from me.
"Fine! I like her, okay?" Adam said, looking back at me. I smiled at him.
"Okay. I knew anyway." I said with a giggle. Adam rolled his eyes and looked forward. I started to laugh even more as I looked forward too.
"Well, isn't Adam and Eve." I heard someone says. I rolled my eyes to the sound of the person.
McGill.
Adam and I stopped walking, turning around and seeing him walk in the door. McGill likes me but I don't like him. It gets really annoying.
McGill came to the middle of Adam and me. He put his arm around me. "So, you guys ready for practice?" I got his finger and lifted his hand and took it off of my shoulder. I made a sour face at him.
"What do you think, John?" Adam snapped in frustration. "And don't touch Ski."
"Fine. But when we start dating, no promises." Johnny said. I rolled my eyes. I looked at him again.
"When did I ever say I was ever going to date you?" I asked. McGill smiled at me.
"You will later on." He implied. I rolled my eyes again. I walked to the locker room, Adam following close behind. I finally got in and you'll never guess who I saw.
Alex.
I took a deep breath in, and started to walk to my locker. My locker is right by Alex's locker. I put in my combo and opened it.
"Hey, Ski." I heard someone say. I looked over and saw Alex. I smiled, trying not to blush.
"Hey, Larson. What's up?" I asked, trying to be calm. I put my bag in the locker and started to put on my pads.
"Nothing big. We are playing a new team tomorrow." Alex stated. I looked at him confused.
"What? What's their team name?" I asked.
"None yet. They're District 5 and heard they weren't the best team." Alex replied while he started to put his hockey pants on. I snickered.
"Should be easy to be them then." I laughed. Alex nodded. I got my shoulder pads on. I wasn't looking at Alex, but I could see that he was still looking at me. I put my jersey on and put my hair up, trying not to look at him.
"Have you ever thought of curling your hair?" Larson asked. I looked at him, then shook my head as I finished my ponytail.
"No, not really. Why?" I asked. He shrugged, smiling a little.
I love his crooked smile.
"I think that curling you hair would look pretty on you." Alex stated. I looked at him confused, but I still had a smile on my face.
"Wait, you think I'm pretty?" I asked. Alex shrugged, then nodded.
"Yeah." Alex replied. I smiled. I was trying not to jump for joy in front of him to embarrass myself. But, honestly.
He thinks I'm pretty!
"Hey!" Adam yelled. Alex laughed a little, looking off to his right.
"Sorry, Banks!" Alex called back. He looked at me. I shook my head a little, laughing.
"Don't mind him. He's one hour older then me and he thinks he's my dad." I laughed. Alex laughed, too. I heard the locker room doors open. We all looked over to see who was walking in. Coach stopped walking right when he came in.
"Hey, Hawks. Ready for practice today? We have a game tomorrow!" Coach asked loudly.
"Yeah!" We all cheered.
"Great! Let's get out there!" Coach yelled. We all got up and started to walk out.
We got onto the ice and started to skate around for warm up laps. I was in front of Adam and behind Alex. I was the only girl on the team, but I pretend to be one of the guys.
