Ski
Once we finally got home, we started on homework. Once again, Adam was goofing off and not paying attention. I was trying to concentrate on my homework. I was working on a paragraph about the history of King James. All of a sudden, I heard Adam starting to make clicking noises with his tongue. I stopped writing and looked at Adam. We had both hand playing with the pencil. I rolled my eyes and started to work on my paragraph again.
Another click.
Just concentrate Ski, at least you'll graduate seventh grade.
I kept repeating in my head. Another click.
Just concentrate Ski, at lea-
another click. I slammed down my pencil on the table and ran my hands threw my hair, trying to keep my cool.
"Adam." I said calmly while closing my eyes. "Please, do not make another sound with your mouth unless it's something about homework." I sighed. I opened my eyes and saw Adam just staring at me with his mouth opened like he was wanted to say something, or make another click.
"Someone's grumpy today." Adam replied. I took a deep breath in, and looked back at Adam.
"Adam, I need to tell you something." I said. Adam looked back at me. "Okay, I started to talk to our history teacher, and he said that... uh.... you're failing his class. And, the only way you can bring that grade up is that if you pass that test on Monday." I said. Adam just stared at me with no emotion. Then, he shrugged.
"So?" He asked. He looked back down at his pencil. I shot him a "are you really serious" look.
"Adam! If you don't pass this test, you will be held back and I know you don't want that to happen to you! Don't you?! I mean, if you get held back, you can't play hockey because Mom and Dad will be mad and also, you can't date Courtney because she's going to be an eighth grader!" I yelled, hoping that he would consider it. He looked up like he was about to sacrifice the biggest thing ever.
"Fine. Only because I wanna play hockey and I wanna date Courtney." Adam said. I smiled.
"Okay, let's get ready to study."
