"So? I can beat you right here, right now." Adam said.

"Cake-eater." Jesse said in a snotty way. Adam rolled his eyes. "What? You going to get your rich parents to come and save you butt. Well don't hold your breath, Banksy. Admit it, you're scared. And you too sissy."

"Hey! Don't call her that!" I heard Charlie yell.

"Who's side are you on anyway, Spazway?! Our team, or the Hawks?" Jesse asked. I looked at Charlie without moving my head. He stared at me, then looked back at Jesse.

"No one." Charlie said.

"Ours." Jesse snapped. "Alright. Let's get down to business. You're scared of us, and Miss Hawk is just as scared."

That's it.

I jumped over my chair and pinned Jesse on the desk with my forearm across his chest.

"You listen here, Hall. You never speak about me, my brother, or anyone on my team. You're just mad because you lost from us. Well, guess what. I'm never going to like you or your team. And if I ever join your team, which I won't ever, you better watch out. Just watch your back. I will come and get you so hard, it's not funny." I snapped. He stared at me in fear. I pushed him a little. He was staring at me. I heard the teacher start to come in.

"Alright, thank you Mrs. Gunn." Mr. Klean said. He hasn't looked in the room yet. We all started to scramble into our seats.

I sat down real quick. We all did. Mr. Klean came in and looked at us. I saw in the corner of my eye Jesse staring at me. Right now, I wish I could just turn...

Invisible.

I was starting to walk home from school. Adam was going to a friends house so I had to walk alone. I hate walking alone. I don't know why, I just do.

"Ski! Ski!" I heard someone yell. I looked behind me and saw Courtney running up to me with her cute little cheerleader outfit. She stopped right behind me. "Hey, where ya headin'?" She asked. I looked at her.

"Home. Wanna hang out today?" I asked.

"Can't. I would love to though, but I got figure skatin'. I wish I could." She said. I shrugged.

"It's fine. Maybe later." She nodded. "So how was cheerleading?" I asked.

"I love it, but I don't like the girls. They're so mean and annoyin' and think they're so cool. Anyway, how was science?" She asked. I looked at her confused.

"What?" I asked. She looked at me.

"Yeah. Heard you and Jesse got into a fight in science. It's goin' around the whole school." She replied. I rolled my eyes.

"Well, I didn't think it was going to spread! He started it." I sighed. "I don't know. If people push me down, I'm going to push them down harder." I said while staring off into space.

"Never thought of it like that. I wish I could be just like you. Wise and smart. Knows what to do at the right time, you know? I'm just pretty and dumb." She said. We both started to laugh.

I tripped over the lifted up slab of the brick walkway and fell, then I felt someone catch me. I closed my eyes. It all happened in a second. I opened my eyes. I saw Charlie. I stared at him.

"Charlie?" I asked. He lifted me up.

"Sorry." He said. He started to walk away.

"Wait, Charlie!" I yelled. He stopped and looked at me. "I'm the one who should be sorry." He turned around and walked up to me.

"What?" He asked. I breathed out in a guilty sort of way.

"Look. I'm sorry for the way I have been treating you. You're a nice guy. And I'm throwing that away. My brother doesn't like me to talk to people who aren't on my team." I apologized.

"And you listen to him." Charlie said. I did a little shrug.

"I have too. He's my older brother. I do whatever he says. He knows better. I'm just sorry for they way I acted and wanted to say thank you for defending me in science." I said. He smiled.

"Anytime. I got to go, see you later?" He asked. I smiled.

"See you later."
