POV: Gadget

Phew!

I stretched my back as me and Tails finally cleared Green Hill. All the debris and robot parts were gathered in a very large pile of scrap metal that towers quite high due to how much debris was left over.

"Thanks for the help!" Tails flew over with his, well, tails.

"No problem! I'm just glad to get Green Hill back to its original self again" I flashed a smile and a thumbs up.

"Same" Tails agreed. "Well, I'll see you around, Gadget!"

"Bye!" I smiled before leaving the vast green plains and walking back to the hospital to see Infinite. During the time spent with Tails, I managed to keep Infinite out of the conversation. I just hoped he hadn't tried to escape, that's the last thing I need right now.

My feet ache, I could really use a rest...

Clearing Green Hill took hours upon end, it was now approaching 5PM by the time I got back to the hospital.

The same nurse with short white fur greeted me and we talked for a minute before I parted to go to Infinite's room. I unlocked the door and walked inside, seeing Infinite upright and playing with the rim of his glove.

"I'm back" I sighed tiredly and slouched on the hard plastic chair.

Infinite grunted, "Welcome back."

I raised a brow, "Did you do anything while I was gone?"

"No, not like I can do anything anyway" Infinite grunted harshly.

"I was just asking.." I grumbled, the tiredness wearing down my voice, my eyes felt heavy so I curled up and rested.

"When am I allowed out of here?" Infinite asked.

"The nurse said a few days time..." I yawned and rubbed my eyes, glancing over at him with my tired eyes.

"That's too long." He replied gruffly.

"Well, I'm sorry I can't heal you fast enough to get you out of here within a day" I scoffed and rolled my eyes, resting my arms and head against one arm of the chair.

I received a sharp glare from Infinite but nothing else.

As it fell silent for more than a few minutes I decided to drift off into a small nap or hopefully some well deserved sleep.

POV: Infinite

That wolf looks exhausted.

Must've been a hard day.

At least he didn't question me fiddling with my glove.

I looked over at the wolf sleeping in that chair. It was plastic and looked quite uncomfortable, but I didn't bother him.

So the room returned to silence, as it once was before the wolf came back. It was a little...lonely.

But then again, I liked the silence.

---

The nurse came in to give me my dinner, and the wolf was still sleeping. The dinner itself was okay, not the best but I'm not expecting the best for me.

It was food, and that's all that mattered.

I finished the meal and layed down, the mini monitor allowed me to move more in bed so I layed on my side, minding the wires and curling my long tail over my thigh.

I sighed heavily and closed my eyes, feeling full after dinner.

My thoughts wandered to why I cut, or rather why I even considered cutting. Or why I think cutting will help.

It's a valid escape route if things get too much.

I wonder how the wolf would feel if he seen me cutting...

Not that I'd show him my cuts.

Only if he interrupted my train of thought while cutting.

Not to mention the blood.

I glanced at the clock, 21:48.

It's still early...

Maybe I can slip in a few more cuts...

After all, they do take my mind off the problems I have.
