Lucy's POV

"After you" Chris said, kindly letting me take the lead as we chose to leave the main bar. He took my glass with most of my beverage still in it and waited to allow me to walk ahead of him. Most guys would have done so just to check out the girls' butt...yet I wasn't so sure that he was one of those guys.

Chris' POV

My mom taught me to always treat a lady right, and that's what I always tried to do. But God I was only a man, and after Lucy got up to head out the main bar, I couldn't help my eyes falling down to her behind. Nor could I help the boyish smirk on my face when my brain confirmed that it liked what it saw....

Lucy's POV

"so..." he smiled at me as he sat opposite me at the table I'd chosen. "so..." I grinned back, amused at his staring back at me with that smile on his face. His cheeks flushed a little pink and he looked to his hands sitting in his lap. "ah...can you tell I haven't been in the company of a beautiful woman in a while?" he blushed, then visibly cringed at what he said, but I covered my mouth up as I giggled at him. "I find that hard to believe" I replied sweetly. He let out a modest laugh and shrugged. "nah, unless you count my mom" he thought aloud, making me swoon a little. "cute" I replied, and his eyes darted over to mine and he snorted out a laugh. "ah, sorry, I aren't like, these aren't lines I'm pulling..." he held his hands up and shook his head, making me laugh more. "uh huh" I smirked at him before reaching for my drink. He just sat there looking at me with a smile on his face.

.......

Chris' POV

I had no idea how long we had been here for, but I was genuinely having a great time talking to her. The conversation had flowed so easily without there being any real awkward silences- other than the one that we were in right now. But it wasn't awkward- we'd just naturally come to the end of a conversation and I noticed her stifling a yawn or two.

"do you-" but my question was cut short when a sudden crash startled us both, and Sebastian appeared through the doorway- carrying Charlie on his back. "What the fuck are you doing!?" I laughed, turning round to face them. Seb's face was like stone, looking like he meant business, with Charlie beaming the biggest grin over his shoulder.

"We challenge you to a race Cap" Seb declared. I recognized that look in him and inwardly I started to snigger. "careful Seb, your Bucky Barnes is showing..." I laughed. "Who is Seb? You still got brain freeze Steve?" he countered with a raised brow and I wanted to roll my eyes at him, but instead I jumped up from chair and stood in front of Seb and turned back to Lucy with my hands on my hips.

Lucy's POV

"Ma'am, I'm gonna need you to jump on my back" Chris told me with a furrowed brow- looking incredibly intense. I felt the corner of my mouth start to turn up as I fought the giggle that was coming out of my mouth, but Chris' serious expression and now clenched jaw made me get up and take my place upon his back. "Ready when you are Cap" I slapped his shoulder, grinning back at Charlie.

Not a moment after I was up there, Sebastian was off. "Wh-hey!" Chris yelled after them as Seb vanished through the side door of the building out onto the street. Chris immediately gave chase, me squealing as we sped through the doorway and following in Seb's footsteps.

"Where are we even going?!" Chris yelled, laughing (and totally breaking character) as we ran, trying to catch up. "Hotel!" Seb hollered back at us, getting smaller and smaller in the distance. "He knows I'd beat his ass if we'd have started off together" Chris muttered as he puffed out a breath with me on his back. I couldn't help laughing, it was such an unexpected occurrence, "do you always do this after comic con events?!" I laughed as I bobbed up and down in rhythm of his run. "No way, you two just seem pretty cool" he answered. Why did my heart skip a beat then?! "Ah shit, Chris I just lost my shoe!" I gasped as we carried on. "Chris!"
"Ah c'mon, ya don't need it"
"Chris!" I squeaked, turning my head to look for my shoe. He sighed with a chuckle and slowed down, turning to head back in the direction of my lost heel.

I dropped off his back when I spotted my glittery heel in the middle of the path. I hobbled over and slipped it back on and stood up, straightening my dress. As I looked up, Chris was standing watching me with a grin on his face. I looked at him questioningly and he shook his head slightly, "I don't think we're gonna win the race" he said, and I laugh. "I don't even know where your hotel is" he chuckled, "it's only a block away, take the road to the left, passed the donut shop on the corner"

"Ooh, donuts sound good right now" he looked at me with a raised brow as we headed in that direction.
