"are you sure you're cool with this?" I asked Chris as he lay on my bed watching me get ready for this party. "sure. why not?" he asked, laying on his hand, elbow bent and pressing into the mattress. I shrugged, "oh I dunno...maybe it's cause you're you and you're gonna get swarmed" I said, my voice laced with sarcasm. Chris snorted at me, "used to it" he shrugged arrogantly- making me snort louder. I looked over my shoulder at him and he sent me a cheeky grin. "I'm cool with it as long as you are" he said, rolling over to sit upright. Legs bent oved the side of the bed now as he looked at me. "It's gonna come out at some point that we're together, and what better way than doing it now? Just a regular couple going out to a friends party?"

"You make it sound so simple" I sighed, I wasn't going to lie, I was a little apprehensive about the whole thing now the occasion was here. "It is Luce" he said, getting up from the bed and moving over to me. He knelt down beside the stool I was sat on and took my hands. "The biggest part of the problem last time was we could never be together to do the regular things- be normal. But tonight we can do just that." He smiled. "And if things get a little too much then we can leave" He promised. I nodded at him and sent him a smile. "I'm so glad you're here" I whispered to him, raising my hand to his cheek. "Me too sweetheart" He winked.

An hour and a half later, I finished off sliding my feet into a pair of relatively uncomfortable heels- I sure wasn't a girl that could wear heels well. I grabbed my purse off the bed and headed to the door. Chris was waiting downstairs in the living room for me; ever the gentleman he left to give me some privacy to change into my dress.

As I took the the stairs, he appeared at the bottom of them-standing there in all his masculine glory. My heart fluttered as he smiled up at me. "you look beautiful" he greeted me, holding a hand out to take mine. "thank you." I blushed. "of course you look as handsome as always, you don't even have to try" I rolled my eyes as him, making him blush a little. "I still try and put in some effort for you" he replied, always with the charm... He leant down and pressed a kiss to my lips. "you ready to go?" he asked, still holding onto my hand. "I think so- I daren't leave Charlie waiting any longer, she's making Sebastian wait in the car there until we get there too" I giggled. "I'm amazed she's even been down for having him come this weekend" he said as we left my house. "yeah I agree...I mean, does he know how she feels?" I asked him, looking up at his towering form. Even in heels he was still like 3 foot taller. Chris shrugged, "I think he has a fair idea." He replied, "but I feel kinda guilty that maybe we had a little hand in it...." he confessed, but I let out a deep sigh. "that's how I've been feeling too..." I agreed. I unlocked my car and we both slid inside.

"We were talking a few weeks back, about how awesome that weekend was- her meeting Seb and just having so much fun." I started the engine and headed down the road to our destination. "She was cool with it being a hook up- let's face it, who would have expected it to be anything else?" I questioned out loud, "you'd be surprised..." Chris mumbled a little under his breath in sarcasm. I shot him a playful glare before I continued. "anyway" I carried on, "he totally surprised her; staying in contact with her, and I know she'd fallen for him hard. But we just-"

"we totally freaked her out" he interjected. I looked over at him in the passenger seat and nodded sadly. "she told me that seeing me so broken hearted after we broke up, she swore to herself she wasn't going to go down that road with Seb."

"but we were both in a different place to those two" he said, "I thought I was ready and had the time for a relationship"

"and I wasn't prepared to compromise-or at least understand that things were going to be a little tougher than I would have liked" I stated. "I do feel like I gave up on us too soon" I added, looking back at him guiltily. But typical Chris brushed it off, "sweetheart, things just weren't lining up at the right time for us. It's different now" he shrugged, yet sending me a reassuring smile. "I just hope Charlie gives him a chance. She shouldn't throw away what they have because of someone else" I nodded at his opinion, "those two seem to be right for each other"
