It was the end of the day and we were both still surprisingly pumped from the chaos that was Comic Con, so we'd decided to head back to the hotel and change and then head out to grab a cocktail or two.

*slam* the door to the noisy bar flew open, hitting the wall as we entered.

We had arrived.

Strutting over to the bar in our skyscraper heels, we ordered a round of whiskey, just to warm us up. "It's fucking freezing out there" Charlie shivered, rubbing her arm a little. We both had kinda regretted not bringing our coats and wearing the shortest dresses we owned. We look good though. "I know right, I'm getting too old for this shit" I replied, downing my drink. "You're only 32" Charlie sniggered as she watched me wave to get the bartenders attention. "Easy there ladies, the nights still young!" He winked at me as he poured me another drink. "We've had an interesting day" I replied to his comment. He smiled, "oh?" He raised a brow. "Uh huh, this ones drowning her sorrows."
"I can tell, man trouble?" He asked, leaning on the counter. I rolled my eyes as Charlie carried on, mostly as if I wasn't there. "You could say that. We were at comic con and a certain captain caught her eye" she said, "she coulda easily hit that" she added. I scoffed and turned away from them, scoping out the scene around me. Tables scattered around the dark timber clad room, wooden chairs joining them. Most of them hosting patrons, having a good time on a Saturday night.

Chris' POV

"are we still heading to that new place Downey found after this one?" Sebastian asked after passing the barman a twenty. I nodded as I cradled the bottle in between my fingers. "Mackie called me about an hour ago to say they were all there already" I chuckled. It was sort of routine for us thought to come here after every Comic Con in Diego. I guess it had become our tradition. It was a cool little place, and no one seemed to really care who we were here, so Seb and I always liked to put it on the to-do list.

"I'm surprised you're not holed up in your hotel room pining after that girl" Seb commented, as I rested my chin down onto my hand as I looked down at my bottle. "hmph" I mumbled as I picked at the label on the glass. "It's my luck though isn't it" I shrugged. "used to it" I added, not caring that I was feeling a pang of disappointment that I didn't do anything about it. But that would have been over the line- hitting on a guest at a Comic Con. No matter how much Seb thought she was into me too.

"I gotta say, I am surprised that we ain't bumped into them tonight though" Sebastian continued what I hoped was a done conversation. "I mean, Charlie seemed a total party girl- In a good way though" he added swiftly. "and god was she beautiful" he sighed shaking his head. I smirked, but nodded as I continued to pick at the label on my bottle. "well, they did say that this wouldn't be their last Comic Con" I said, with a falling sense of hope. Sebastian laughed and turned his head to look at me, "you could wait a whole year?" he questioned me with an irked brow. I smirked back at him and shrugged.

Lucy's POV

The bar was packed, it must have only been around 11.30pm but the place was heaving. I'd left Charlie at a table chatting away to two fellas who clearly wanted to get in her panties. I was glad to get away from the shameless flirting. I made my way through the crowds, pushing myself through gaps to eventually reach the bar. "I'll be with you in a sec honey" the barmaid said as she flashed by me, several drinks in hand. I didn't bother to reply as she was at the opposite end of the bar already.

Chris' POV

"well, well, well...." Sebastian's voice had my eyes darting up from the third bottle the bar girl was passing me. "isn't that a sight for sore eyes" He smirked. I glanced to him and then beyond the girl serving us- over towards the other end of the bar. My eyes widened and my posture straightened as I took in the sight before me. "what ya gonna do?" He asked me, as I was yet to even make a sound never mind a move. I ran my palm over my head and sighed. "uh, I gotta... I gotta send a drink over" was the first thing that came to mind. "then I'm gonna go over. I can't let some other guy take the opportunity to take my seat beside her" I said, my eyes not leaving her as I tried to wave down the bartender. "what about you?" I asked, seeing Seb standing from his stool in my peripheral, looking around. "I'm gonna find my little firecracker. She can't be far" he said, necking his rum. I snorted and shook my head "when did we turn into little 8th graders with crushes?" I laughed, before telling the tender to send her another of whatever she was ordering before.

I threw my hat back onto my head to cover my face and then sat and watched with trepidation as he moved over there with a drink for her. Sebastian was still beside me, and didn't argue with my analogy I noticed. I watched her conversation with the bar tender, him acknowledging where the drink had come from and then her look over this way briefly. I took a deep breath and gripped my half empty bottle in my hand as I stood from my seat. Sebastian slapped my shoulder and wished me luck. I needed it right now as I started to make my way over to her.

Lucy's POV

"Oh hey thought you had left" a familiar voice pulled me from my thoughts. I looked over the bar, seeing the waiter from earlier. I smiled, "nope, still here. She's over yonder gettin accosted by two guys" I laughed. The waiters eyes bugged out. "Wow" I laughed again. "Used to it" I answered, he shook his head with a smile as he started to pour me a drink. "Oh, I just wanted a coke actually..." I interrupted him, seeing him raise his eyes to me. "Not a problem, but the guys over there wanted to get this for you" he replied. I frowned and looked over to the opposite end of the bar to see two guys sitting on stools nursing their drinks. I couldn't see them clearly as they were both wearing ball caps. I swallowed a little, "tell them thanks but I don't accept drinks off strangers" I said to the waiter. Especially two guys looking a little shifty, I thought. "I think you would accept it off those two" he said, leaving it on the bar in front of me, winking and walking off. I frowned and looked back over at the two figures at the bar. Well, one of them- the other had disappeared.

I huffed a sigh out of my nostrils and stared at the drink. "I didn't spike it ya know" a voice chuckled behind me. I smiled at the familiarity and turned to see Captain America- well, Chris- smiling widely at me. "that's good to know" I grinned back at him. He stood there looking at me, holding my gaze, before he asked, "is it cool if I sit?" pointing at the stool beside me. "sure" I replied with a nod. "Sebastian not joining?" I asked, presuming it was him, glancing over to where they were sat- only to see he wasn't there either now. Chris chuckled. "he's gone to find Red" he smirked, holding the rim of his bottle to his pretty pink lips. Wait, did I just say that?

"Oh God" I laughed as I planted my palm over my eyes. Chris laughed, "something I said?" he grinned. "she's going to be unbearable when she realizes he went looking for her" I sighed with a smile on my face. "or she'll eat him alive....probably both" I reasoned with myself out loud. Chris smirked as he swallowed his beer. "I'm sure he'll handle it like only Seb can" he replied and my eyes went wide. "I really don't want to know what that means" I told him, making him laugh loudly, clutching his chest.

Chris' POV

"so what about you? didn't fancy third wheeling?" She asked me, with a cheeky smile. I shook my head, "I don't wanna be anywhere near that" I moaned, making her giggle. "what about you? um...would I be pissing anyone off at home for being here with you tonight?" I couldn't help it. I had to ask. I kept my gaze on the empty bottle on the bar top, still awkwardly picking at the sticker. She let out a cynical sounding laugh and I took the opportunity to look at her.

She held a bashful look on her face and tucked her hair behind her ear. "no, there's no one to piss off" she smiled with a blush. I could see there was a story to tell that she hid behind her eyes, but right now wasn't the time. I was momentarily doing a happy dance inside at the idea of her being single. "great! I mean...it's great I'm not gonna piss anybody off..." I laughed. She laughed at my idiocy and nodded. "I guess so" she laughed. "well, in that case, do you wanna bail on here and head into the other room?" I asked her. She frowned lightly and looked up at me, momentarily making me freak out that she was going to change her mind, but she smiled. "there's another room?"
