Another week had passed, though this morning was special. I was finally legal in the magic world. I was finally able to do magic and the trace had been taken off of me. I let myself apparate into the twins' room, covering my eyes in case anyone was indecent. But when I heard no screams or yelling, I opened my eyes, seeing the room empty. I huffed, as I walked out of the room, walking down the stairs. I was still in pajamas as I walked into the kitchen, seeing everyone awake and smiling. No one shouted out SURPRISE, which I was kind of glad for. But George did stand up, walking over to me. "Happy birthday love." He kissed my lips lightly, scratching the back of his head when we heard a cough. Behind us stood my father, who was looking adamantly at us, making George walk away, sitting down at the table next to his twin. My dad walked closer to me, embracing me in a hug.

"Happy 17th Mira." I smiled back at my dad as he kissed my head.

"Thanks dad." I sat down at the table next to Harry as he smiled at me. A chorus of happy birthdays came from the rest of the people in the kitchen.

The birthday celebrations were lowkey. But George managed to always make me feel special, especially on my birthday. Even though we couldn't leave the house, we spent the entire day together. Since my dad refused to let us be alone, Fred came along with us. Not that I minded. We tested out some of our newer creations on the others, and they couldn't be mad because it was my birthday.

After my birthday, the summer was pretty stagnant. But soon we were all on our way back to Hogwarts, George's hand in mine as we were guarded. Moody and Tonks walked in front of me and Harry. The Weasleys were a bit behind us so that we didn't raise too much suspicion at Kings Cross. I would look back every once in a while to make sure they were still there but that's when a familiar looking dog trodden up to me. My eyes went wide. He's got to be joking. "Padfoot. Are you barking mad?" Moody said, glancing down at the dog for a second. "You'll blow the entire operation." I glared down at the dog as he made his way through people. When we walked down the stairs, I saw the dog slip into a conference room and Harry and I both slipped in after, closing the door behind us. My dad stood there, wearing a robe as he looked back at us.

"Dad. What are you doing here?" I looked around, seeing the shadow of Moody outside the door.

"If somebody sees you..." Harry started, glancing nervously around.

"I had to see you off, didn't I?" Somehow this made me smile as Harry and I sat down on opposite sides of my dad. "What's life without a little risk?"

"I don't wanna see you get chucked back in Azkaban." Harry added, and I nodded.

"Don't worry about me. I wanted to send my daughter off to Hogwarts at least once. It's a pity it's one of her last years." My dad touched my cheek gingerly, making me smile up at him. "And I wanted you to have this Harry." My dad reached into his pocket, pulling out a folded photograph. Harry opened it and I looked over his shoulder seeing the photograph come to life. "Original Order of the Phoenix." I looked at the picture, seeing Harry's parents standing next to each other, my mum and dad right next to them. "Marlene McKinnon. She was killed two weeks after this was taken." My dad pointed her out. She was one of Lily and my mum's friends. "Voldemort wiped out her entire family." My dad pointed out another couple, who were standing next to my parents. "Frank and Alice Longbottom." That kid, Neville's parents. "They suffered a fate worse than death, you ask me." They were tortured beyond repair with the cruciatus curse. "It's been 14 years. And still a day doesn't go by where I don't miss your dad." My dad puts his hand on Harry's shoulder. "Or your mum." He says, looking back at me. I saw her in the photograph, smiling. She kept looking up at my dad, making me wonder if that was the same way I looked at George.
