Y/n pov
Asahi start to panic at my sudden request, "O-Oh, hold on a minute!" He scrambles to get his stuff and stiffly walks with me down to a cute little cafe. He looks around nervously waiting for me to speak, unable to hold it in anymore I laugh. "Asahi, calm down. I just wanted to explain myself." "Y-Yeah, sorry. People or girls don't usually talk to me about personal stuff." A waiter comes over and takes our order, we order some beverages and a few slices of cake.
"Well, I just felt like I need to tell you first," I look at him with a soft smile, "if you don't want to hear it it's fine." "N-No, I want to listen!" His yelling drew some glances, he coughs awkwardly. Laughing I tell him my middle school days, "I see, that's why you said you understood how I felt." Finally the our order came, "Excuse me, sir. Did your daughter want a lollipop? We hand them out for free to the kids." (Asahi is often seen as a grown man and Hinata was mistaken as a middle schooler since you're shorter it's the same)
I choke on my cake, Asahi grabs my drink and offers it to me to help. "I'm *Cough* a *wheeze* high schooler," I try to correct him, patting my back Asahi deciphers. "We're both high school students." The waiter gasps, "I'm so sorry! Here take the candy as an apology!" He gives us 2 lollipops and rushes back to the kitchen. Finally calming down I laugh, "That was something." "Haha, yeah."
Noticing that he's calmed down I smile, "I want you to know that I do keep people at a certain distance, but I don't want to do that anymore. I want to experience true friendships especially with you." He sheepishly scratches his cheek, "Really?" "Yeah"
We pay for our food and leave, I was eating my lollipop as we walk. "Y/n, I am curious about your parents," Asahi fiddles with his wrapper. I think of the best way to describe them, "They're hard working and I know they love me. They just love me from a distance." He stops, I turn to see if something was wrong, "Was it hard?" "At first it was, but I learned that crying about it won't do any good. I met Keishin and the old man, so I wasn't completely alone. Oh! I even met this women who asked me to teach her kids how to play volleyball, she gave me free food."
Asahi looks at me sadly, "I wish I was as strong as you." I look at him in surprise, "W-What do you mean?" "I was a wuss after being blocked after one game, you had to go through so much more than me and you still continued to play." I grab his hand, "We all have a way of dealing with things. What you see as strength is really just a mask, I try to be strong because I feel like I have to." He stares at my hand, "Do you feel like that around me?" "Mmm, lately around you I feel like I can relax."
He smiles, "I'm glad." Lifting my hand he notices something, "You have a scratch here." I look and sure enough there was, "Oh yeah, must have been from when (X/bff) grabbed me." His brows furrowed. "Asahi?"
He lifts my hand up to his lips and gave it a soft peck, "I hope it goes away, so you don't ever have to think of her again." I blush at his actions and pull him, "Come on, it's late! You gotta get home." He laughs, "Okay."
