Y/n pov
The days went by fast, I made sure to practice hard. I wanted to defeat (X/bff) and prove to her that I've changed, that I wasn't the same girl in middle school. Before I knew it I was on a bus riding right into the belly of the beast, Asahi must have noticed my serious expression. "You'll do great, don't stress," he sits next to me. "Thanks, it really helps having you guys with me," I look at him with a sad expression, "are you okay?" Tilting his head he asks, "What do you mean?"
"I'm the ace in this game, I want to make sure you're okay with that." He pats my head, "At first I was a little bothered, but I realized that this is more than a practice match for you. It's something that has to be done and I'd rather be on the sidelines cheering you on instead of making you face it alone." "I'm happy that you aren't mad at me," I laugh, "I though for sure you would be pouting in the back." "H-Hey! I don't pout!" We ride the rest of the way together, talking and laughing about different things.
"How are you holding up?" Daichi asks me when we start unloading. "I'm fine, just a little nervous," I take a deep breath, "I won't let that effect me." "Good, we need our ace in top form today," he gives me a wink making me chuckle.
We arrive at the gym and greet all the players, "Thank you for having us!"
"Thank you" the gym responds to us, but as I continue walking I hear whispers,
"It's her and the wingless crows"
"That's the one that (X/bff) said.."
"I feel bad for her team"
Tanaka gets pissed and rolls up his sleeves, "You guys got something to say to us?!" I smack him on the head, "Don't cause more trouble." Growling he reluctantly walks away.
"Did you see that?" "Yeah, she's really violent, (X/bff) was right when she said she was a bully."
When we start to stretch I see Suga clenching his fist , I gently wrap my hand around his. "Y/n?" He looks at me with a surprise. "Don't worry about it, they don't matter," I give him a soft smile, he sighs. "I don't understand how you're not bothered by this." "I am, I'm filled with pure rage," I laugh as he sweat drops, "but then I remember that I have you guys, so why should I care about total strangers' opinions? You guys are I need." He laughs along with me, "You do a good job controlling yourself. Everyone else looks ready to murder."
I look over and see everyone with a dark expression, even Hinata. I clap my hands and grab their attention, "Come on guys, lighten up! We should be thankful to get a practice match before the prelims." "But, Y/n, aren't you worried that someone will bring up your past?" Hinata looks at me with concern. "I'm not, because I know you guys will always be on my side. After all you guys did promise me."
Finally smiling at me I breath a breath of relief, Now someone won't die
"Are you Y/n?" a gruff voice asks me, turning I see a man. "Yes, can I help you with something?" "Tch, how did a puny person like you become the ace?" He glares at me, "I bet you used the same methods in middle school on them." I have a calm expression, this is all apart of (X/bff)'s plan. Don't let her win
"I have no idea what you're talking about." "Don't play dumb with me! You probably harassed someone or blackmail them!" He growls while grabbing me by the collar, "I should beat the shit out of you! For being a coward, a bully, and the worse thing: Hurting someone as sweet as (X/bff)!"
Sweet? Yeah right, try venomous
Everyone stands up ready to tackle the guy holding me. "What do you think you're doing?!" Keishin gets ready to walk over. "Enough!" I hold up my hand to stop them, "I'm sorry, sir, but I'm not any of those things you say I am. My team can confidently say who I am without your alleged 'blackmail'." I grip his wrist and look at him right in the eye, "I've been holding myself back the moment I walked into this gym. I dare you, give me a reason to stop."
