A/n:

I got the father's attitude from this Anime called The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. The granddad is a Tsundere, you know acts mean but is really a marshmallow on the inside. I thought it would be interesting if the dad was like that in my story. I put translations to show what he really means, I'm sorry if this sucks

Y/n pov

We manage to keep our lead by confusing Date Tech with our attacks thanks to Suga's signals. I see them getting frustrated, we can't get too cocky. I hit the ball scoring another point, we have to keep going. Hinata runs to the net, the blockers jump in front of him only for him to run to the other side. Aone seeing that jumps twice blocking him successfully, I glare the ground. They're catching on

I see the tension between Aone and Hinata, walking over to Kageyama I whisper something to him, "Remember Hinata's real job." He nods knowing what to do. Date Tech serves it over, Tanaka bumps it for Hinata to spike. He gets blocked, Noya digs it up for Kageyama to set.

Hinata, Tanaka, and I start running to the net. We jump getting ready to spike, the Iron Wall is up trying to stop us. As we swing, Date Tech realizes that we didn't hit anything. Asahi is behind us hitting the ball straight down the court. We cheer for him. "Good job, Asahi!" I smile at him. "Thank you, it's thanks to you guys that I was able to do that," he smiles back

I notice Hinata staring at his hand, "You disappointed?" He looks at me, "I'm not." I grin at his words, "You finally understand." Nodding he smiles, "It felt amazing, being the Greatest Decoy. I get it now, it doesn't matter if I score or not. My job is to open the way for the ace and I'm proud to have done that." I ruffle his hair, "About time."

We end up winning the first set, thankfully we were able to get into a groove that got us the win. Switching court sides I see my parents watching me, I immediately look away. I can't get distracted now, we have bigger problems.

I walk over to Keishin, "We have a problem." He looks at me, "You're talking about the blocker aren't you?" I nod, "They manage to get a hand on Hinata's quick attack. Kageyama hasn't been giving me many quick attacks, so they mainly focus on him. That being said, they're learning."

He nods in agreement and walks over with me to the rest of the team, "We're going to move up our rotation to get Hinata away from No brows. This won't mean that he's completely unmarked, he'll just have a better chance. Now that I've done this you guys will be marked even more." He jesters to Tsukki, Asahi and me.

"We can't keep relying on Hinata and Y/n's quick attack," Asahi speaks up, "having them in constant play keeps us in constant play. As ace, I promise to do what it takes." I smack his back, "Look at you acting all tough. That was very cool, congrats!" Daichi wipes away a fake tear, "You're growing up so fast." Asahi deadpans, "Thanks dad."

"We will too, right Hinata?" I nudge him. "That's right! I may not do back attacks, but I'll get as many points as I can up front and be the Greatest Decoy!" "Don't worry about being blocked either," I smile as I throw an arm around Noya, "We've got you covered on that." "Heck yeah!" Noya yells in agreement with me. "Thank you guys! I'll do my best too count on that!"

Set 2

We start the 2nd set, so far things are going okay. Hinata and I are doing a good job distracting Date Tech, Tanaka and Daichi are able to hit unmarked. They blocked Asahi, but that was only because they knew where the set was going. Falling for the decoys Date Tech coach gets frustrated and calls a time out.

When the game starts up again with Asahi up front. He calls for the ball grabbing the blockers attention, being blocked I run and get it up in the air. "Yeah! Great dig, Y/n!" My mother screams from her seat, I stare at her with wide eyes. "Y/n!" I hear my name being called snapping me back into focus but I was too late to save the ball from hitting the floor from another block. I bow to my team, "I'm so sorry. I got distracted!" They smile and pat me on the back,
