Flashback (Y/n is just starting middle school, she's already known Ukai for a couple of years)

"Y/n, since you want to play on your middle school team. I'm going to be taking you to a match, so you can see an official match," Old Coach Ukai explains to me on where we're going. I get excited, "I can't wait!"

When we arrive I was in awe of everything around me, "So amazing! It smells like Air Salonpas!" Ukai chuckles at my enthusiasm, "Calm down now." Leading me up to our seats I watch the games in awe. I didn't even know the teams and I yelled for whoever I wanted, it didn't matter if I made other confused I was just happy to see a real game.

At the end of the day, Ukai was pleased from my excitement, "I'm glad to see you that you enjoyed yourself. I want you to remember this feeling of watching others and wanting to play." I nod happily, but then my stomach started growling.

"Haha, I guess all that excitement made you hungry," Ukai laughs at me, embarrassed I not my head. "I know a good place for food."

We get in his car and he drives us to a nice restaurant, "I know the manager, she's a fine lady with a small baby." Going in we're greeted with a lady with a kind smile, "If it isn't the old man! Welcome!" "I'm not that old, you hag," He jokes with her.

Seeing me, she bends down to my level, "And who is this? Is she your adorable granddaughter?" I hid behind Ukai and shake my head, "I'm Y/n L/n, Ukai is my coach. He took me to see my first official game." She gives me a sweet smile, "Nice to meet you. I have a daughter that likes volleyball too, she's in kindergarten. Do you want to meet her?"She holds out a hand to me, I look up at Ukai to see if it's okay.

Nodding in response, I take the lady's hand and let her lead me to a small little girl. "C/n, this is Y/n. She likes volleyball too," the lady introduces us. C/n gets excited and grabs my hands, "Really?! I love watching volleyball, they're all like 'Whoosh' and "Babam'. When I grow up, I'm going to be the best volleyball player ever!" I was taken back by the girl's attitude, nobody has ever greeted me like that. I just started at her in awe. "C/n! You shouldn't grab people like that!" Her mother scolds her. "It's fine," I smile at the little girl. I talk or rather listened to the little girl as Ukai and I ate dinner. She's a lot younger than was the exact opposite of me and it was rather refreshing being around someone like her.

We were getting ready to leave as (W/n) approached me, "If you're ever lonely or bored, you can call me and I'll come get you. C/n really likes you, so I would love for you to come again." I smile happily and nod vigorously, "Thank you!"

Time skip (Y/n is in her middle school years)

Ever since I met them, (W/n) would always invite me to her restaurant when I didn't have practice. I would really help her look after C/n and teach her how to play volleyball. The drama with my team make me not want to play volleyball anymore. (W/n) could see something was wrong.

"Y/n, why aren't you playing volleyball with C/n," she asks me. I shrug my shoulders not looking at her. "Do you want to talk about it?" I shook my head no. "Have you talked to anyone about it?" I shook my head again. She sighs, "It's not good if you keep all your emotions locked away. You should try and find an outlet." I look at her, "Like what?"

She gets up and comes back with different things. "Have you tried drawing?" She hands me a crayon and some paper, but I wasn't too interested in it.

"Crossword?" Fail

"Sudoku?" Fail

"Dancing?" Major Fail
