3rd pov

Date Tech side

"Listen up guys," Date Tech's coach speaks to his team, "Their number 10 got us by surprised with that quick attack, but it's really the jumping power of the blocker that got us. It's just a normal fast attack, don't lose sight of that and don't let him or that Ace get any points. Show them why we're called the Iron Wall."

"What about that girl?" Someone says, "she didn't show in the first game, so we don't know how she plays." An upperclassmen sneers, "She's just a little kid, even shorter than the carrot top. There's no way she's like that too, besides she didn't show in the first game because she was too busy crying." He starts to laugh, "What a weakling!"

Aone grabs his shoulder to signal him to stop. "What? You like her or something?" "Hey, cut that out," the team captain stops the tension from building, "Remember Aone pointed to her for a reason. We shouldn't underestimate her." "Tch, whatever."

Karasuno side

"They're going to start strong with their serves, they're just as good serving as they are blocking," Keishin looks at all of us, "Their strategy is to immediately destroy the opposing team's moral. You have to stop their serves instantly!"

"Yes sir!"

He turns to Kageyama, "You know what to do, right?" He nods back, "Yes, sir." "Good, make me proud, team!"

"Yes sir!"

As we leave to go on the court Keishin pulls Y/n back, "Are you sure you're okay? You're parents are still here." She nods, "It doesn't matter if they're here or not. I have to focus on the game, I can deal with them later." "Good to see your head is on, go get some points!" She runs onto the court, high-fiving all of her teammates.

Y/n's parents

"I can't believe we're still here," her father grumbles, "she's even in the wrong position! Middle blockers are suppose to be tall strong dudes, she's clearly wasting their time." Her mother balls her hands into a fist, "I want to stay and see her play. I feel like we owe her this much." He sighs, "Okay, you're too stubborn for your own good."

"Do you think we failed as parents?" she asks him, "When I talked to her earlier she refused to look at me at first, but when she finally did in the end it was cold and empty." "Nah, we gave her all the money she could ever need to buy stuff and the neighbors made sure she got to school properly," he wraps his arms around his wife, "Giving her space to grow on her own was much easier on all of us. We didn't have to deal with a child restricting the things we love like we were afraid of and she didn't have 'overbearing' parents like our's were. Trust me we gave her the freedom we never had."

She leans against him, "I guess, I just feel like we failed. We got her age wrong." He kisses her on the cheek, "So what? I'm sure lots of people guess her age wrong because she's so short."

She stares at Y/n talking to her teammates with a smile, I can't remember the last time she smiled like that to me.

Her father crosses his arms and observes Y/n, Am I too hard on her? Is (Mother's name) right?

Both of them remembered their daughter's face full of rage when she saw them and the disappointment in her eyes when they didn't say the right age.

Game start; Y/n pov

Date Tech serves over to Daichi, Kageyama sets it to Hinata but Aone blocks him. Fortunately, Hinata does a soft hit making it land on Date Tech's side.

Read blocking, I growl, that makes things a little trickier, Hinata got lucky

It was Kageyama's turn to serve, the libero gets it to the setter. No eyebrow guy spiked it but Noya saved it, Tanaka bumps it to Asahi. "I'm sorry, I'll get it next time!" Noya apologizes to him, Asahi just pats him on the shoulder with a carefree smile, "It's okay, next time I'll do better too."
