The transponder call to the other two didn't go well since Luffy only riled up by picking a fight with Big Mom so I quickly calmed her down after the phone call before apologising for their behaviour. She eased up again easily until a signal was given that someone broke into the treasure room. I went to follow them but stopped when I heard a conversation that I had heard before. I heard about her Devil Fruit and had to be careful. The plan to kill the Vinsmoke Family but Pudding told Reiju how I would prevent that by my marriage.
"Mama cares too much about (M/N). He's someone Mama has always wanted ever since she tries his sweets nit he shut his bakery down back then for some reason. She was really upset until he reappeared. This marriage is just a non violent way to get him. He only did it for his precious crew. It's sweet really of him especially for Sanji. I feel bad for marrying Sanji since I would prefer those two together. Everyone in the family likes him because he's able to calm down Mama." Pudding explained happily.
"Calm her down...." Reiju's voice was trembling.
"Yes! It's a blessing that Mama listens to him, everyone here would want him to stay."
My fingers trembled before I knocked on the door, playing innocent. Pudding stumbled before I heard her permission to enter where Reiju was passed out. Feigning ignorance, I rushed over to Reiju asking Pudding if the two were alright. Pudding spun a lie how the intruders did this too her and how she tried to protect Reiju. I took her answer since now was not the time to bring it up. I took the med kit in the corner of the room and bandaged Reiju up who was bleeding before asking Pudding directions to the recovery room which she led me too. Pudding left afterwards.
I treated Reiju's wounds before Sanji came in. I treated her carefully before wrapping things up. I went to leave since I didn't think Sanji wanted to talk to me but he grabbed my arm. He looked lost and confused. He was sad and guilty too. Sighing, I hugged him before pressing a kiss to his forehead. He begged me to make sure Luffy and Nami were fine. I agreed as we shared a hug. He cried into my shoulder, he told me he just wanted to go back to the way things were.
"What's done is done Sanji. You can't change the past but you can change the future. I'll let you talk with your sister. I'm going to see the other two before I go see my fiancé."
"I'm sorry for the things I said..." Sanji apologized.
"Aw, come here my dumbass cook. Everything is going to be fine. I promise." I cupped Sanji's face offering a smile.
"...promise?" Sanji still seemed uncertain.
"Promise." I agreed.
Leaving the room, I headed down to the prisoner library where Luffy and Nami were located but a guard told me that Big Mom had been enraged so I quickly headed to the kitchen to make a cake before passing it to Pudding, telling her it would soothe Big Mom before heading down to Luffy and Nami. I wasn't surprised when I saw Jimbei since I had my Haki. He was about to use his Karate to lit fire to the book to get them out which earned a glare.
"Are you trying to kill them or get them out? We should cut them out."
"YOU'RE BOTH GOING TO END UP KILLING US!" Nami yelled.
"I know set the book on fire and I'll run in and get them out." I suggested thoughtfully.
"Good idea." Jimbei agreed bending the bars for me
"NO! WE'RE GOING TO DIE!" Nami screamed
Too bad for Nami, the decision was already made and Jimbei set the book on fire while I waited for the right time to get them out. At the perfect opportunity, I grabbed the two and ran out. Nami's clothes had been burned up so I gave her my black shirt that I slept in last night. Her chest area stuck out but it was clothes. I was going to give her my jacket but Rayleigh would cry if I did. Luffy grabbed my shirt as he panted to take me to the spot where he would meet Sanji.
It was captain's orders so I carried Luffy onto my back as he relaxed in my touch from the enhancement soothing out any issues. Sneakily, I left and avoided any army or guards by sneaking into the room where Reiju was and she seemed shocked but once she noticed Luffy. He asked her if she was alright and she reassured us that she was before telling us how Sanji was hung up on the hostages and us. He was told that Sanji knew everything and was glad he wasn't tricked. Luffy ordered me to continue so with a goodbye, I left by lifting up the window and jumping out.
Carefully, I landed on the ground before running over to the spot without breaking anything and alerting anyone. I ran before putting down Luffy gently against the wall. I took off my jacket and sat down next to him before putting it on top of both of us. It was to shield us from the rain. Luffy weakly leaned onto me before warm tears fell onto my shirt. He was silent but he was crying. I raised my hand to rest on Luffy's cheek, telling him that it would all be fine. His tears soon dried up and he leaned more into me for the enhancement. The familiar Haki of Sanji's gave me hope as I excitedly told Luffy who could barely raise his eyelids.
"I never told you to wait." Sanji began
"Shishishi..." Luffy replied
"If you think you can.. then eat.." Sanji told Luffy.
Grabbing the basket from Sanji's hands, I fed Luffy as Sanji went to walk away but I grabbed his wrist and dragged him down next to me, under my jacket. He told us how he was a failure of a cook for getting rain and mud on it. He refused to meet our eyes as Luffy told us it was delicious making me smile while Sanji called him a liar. However, I corrected Sanji, pointing out that Luffy never lies and it was obvious if he did. Luffy quickly finished the meal and gain his strength back which made Sanji tell him to leave.
"Number one, I disrespected the captain and injured him to the best of my abilities despite the fact you came here to save m-" I grabbed Sanji's face
"Hey, Sanji! Speak to our faces if you want talk to us about something important!" I raised my voice while keeping a hold on Sanji's chin.
"... I-I have no right to return to your shup. N-Number two, my greatest saviour. (M/N) and my shitty gramps you already met from back when I was raised is being held hostage. That's why there's no running from the ceremony tommorow!" Sanji trembled as he lied.
"TELL ME THE DAMN TRUTH!" Luffy yelled as he punched Sanji in the face.
"I... WANNA GO HOME TO SUNNY! But I can't find the strength to run away from here! Once the ceremony begins, there's no way I'll be able to stop everything on my own! I still wanna save those those scumbags even though I don't consider them family!" Sanji cried.
I hugged Sanji, bringing his head to rest on my chest as I kissed his forehead. I cradled him gently as I reassured him that everything would be fine. Sanji cried into my wet shirt. Luffy told Sanji with a smile that it was his kind hearted nature. A small laugh escaped my lips as I agreed, kissing Sanji's forehead again. He smiled a bit back too. Luffy made his statement after that.
"We're here for you! Let's wreck that wedding together!"
A/N: So hi, Author san is here. Fun fact, in the next chapter (M/N) and Katakuri will possibly a more intimate moment. Nothing too dirty, you thirsty ones. Second fun fact, Katakuri has a lot of trust in (M/N) if you haven't noticed and it shows up more as the chapters pass by. He's a good boy and only lets (M/N) tease him. Let's be honest, he would prolly kill anyone else for teasing him-
Also, I did a redraw of a scene where Katakuri is first introduced. It'll pop up two chapters later. Now someone give Author san some sleep.
