"You all know who is in your dart guns?" I asked Alice and Luciana.

"Mine's me. Hers is her." Alice said, holding up her dart pistol. No need for rifles for close-quarters action and easier to conceal if need be

"This way, we only need to track who each of us hits. Makes it easy." Luciana said.

"Interesting. Good idea." Morgan said.

The house that they are about to invade is on a shared alley, so Jessica drove up it, and they rolled out of the car silently at the back fence of the target house without Jessica totally stopping. Ninjas.

A dog came at them immediately, but they knew that was going to be there, and it went to sleep with its own special doggy dart. I could hear the growl, the crash of doggy feet scrambling to get moving on concrete, a few barks, a thwip, a few diminishing barks, and then silence.

Jessica drove on and around to the front of the house, and we parked on the street to await results from the Ninja Crew.

"I wish we had those kinds of darts when we were hunting Tommy." I said to Morgan. "All those damn dogs."

"It would have simplified that situation immensely." Morgan agreed.

We waited. Four minutes later, the front door opened and Alice waved us in. Very fast Ninja's.

Inside the house, sitting on the couch, were the two senior Sirens that are the stars of our show. The man was rubbing his neck; the woman looking at Luciana in undisguised fury.

Luciana nodded their way. "They were in bed asleep. Easy. I'm in him. Alice is in her."

Denise took over the scene.

"Hello, Irvin and Amber Cowles. My name is Denise. As you are Siren Assembly members, you know what the Vampire Cleanup Crew is. I lead that team under the direction of the North American Vampire Council, and specifically of its chairwoman. What has happened here this evening is at the direction of the Vampire Council. I, as Lead, am in complete agreement with the actions we have taken."

"What did you do to us, Vampire?" The woman spat.

"Oh, now, now. Let's not be nasty. All in good time. Jessica? Would you start their logs, please?"

"Our logs? What for?" Amber demanded.

No one answered. Jessica took out her Doctor stuff and took their body temperatures and noted them onto their records. "Arm please?" She asked Amber.

"What for, you .... you..." Amber searched for a dirty enough word.

"Amber: I can force you if you like. Your pain level that will result from that force will change the readings, so I prefer not to do that." Jessica told her, dead calm.

The woman heard that calm, believed that threat, and defiantly stuck out her arm. Jessica took her BP.

Irvin, seeing his wife's capitulation, merely offered his arm when requested.

Jessica took blood oxygenation with a little fingertip device.

Next, she pulled out two vacuum test tubes for blood samples and wrote names on the label of each.

"What do you need our blood for?" Amber asked, retreating into defiance again.

Jessica assembled a needle device, and slid the tube partly in, and then said, again mildly 'It does not matter for this test where I get your blood from, so resist and I'll hold you down and take it from your neck. Or give me your arm."

"Fuck you!" Amber said.

"OK. Hard way. Alice: I am going to sit on her chest. Would you hold her head and put her chin up, so I can poke and swap tubes?"

"Absolutely." Alice agreed, with some evil enthusiasm.

They tossed Amber to the floor like she weighed nothing and was not fighting back for all she is worth. All one Siren woman can manage against two trained Vampires is a lot of noise and cussing. Jessica swabbed the neck with a wipe, and poked in with the needle assembly, then drove the tube down, where its internal vacuum pulled her blood into it. The Siren fought back for all she was worth and to absolutely no effect.

When done, Jessica swabbed the struggling woman's neck and taped a gauze square over the needle insertion point. Alice then easily picked Amber up off the floor and plopped her back onto the couch as if she weighed nothing.

The invective from Amber was continuous.

"Irvin? You want that too, or are you going to give me your arm?" Jessica asked. "As you observed on your lovely, sweet wife, all I want is that test tube of blood. I shall have it."

Irvin said "Fine." And again he stuck out his arm. He gets a tourniquet, a few finger taps to find a good vein, and a much easier blood draw.

The tubes went into labeled bags, the bags into a small cooler.

"Ok. Done with the tests. The question you have before you now is how much do you want to live?" Denise asked.

"What do you mean? What did you put into us? What was in those goddamn darts? Did you poison us? Is that why you wanted blood?" Amber asked in a stream.

Denise waited for her to run down.

"In a few hours for you, Amber, and in a few days after that Irvin, you will start to turn. You will go into a coma. When you wake up, a few days later for you, Amber, and at least a week later for Irvin, you will be Vampires. Done. Finito. Sirens, no more. As Vampires, you are now under the direction and restrictions of any other Vampire. The entire Siren Assembly that lives in this country will be the same way by the end of the evening. We are turning every Siren Assembly member in the US. Mostly because you are close and easy to get to. Nothing special about you. I can reach out to ANY Siren Assembly member on the planet. It just takes a dart." Denise added and held up a spent dart to show Amber the simplicity of it all. It had an 'L' on it, so it was Luciana.

"What? Why... What?" Amber asked.

"I'll give you a minute." Denise said. She looked at her phone when it vibrated. "South Dakota done. Samples and data collected." She announced.

"Just leaves 'Movie Night' in Idaho." Luciana said.

"When are we going to ask them about Ginger and Wyatt?" Vera wanted to know.

"In a few minutes. May have to Juice them, while it still works at all." Denise said. "That's on the list for all the teams."

"Ok." Vera growled.

Amber looked at Vera. "You are a Siren. What are you doing with these ... People?" Amber asked.

"Cleaning up your shit." Vera told her with such disgust that Amber recoiled. I do not think she expected a Siren to be getting up her ass like that.

Denise took over from Vera. "Here is more for you to think about, former Siren bitches. Your bio lab. The one you designed and built to try and be able to erase Vampires? The one whose product you tested on my fiancé?" Denise waved at me, in case they did not know who I am. I assume they do, though. They know Vera is/was Siren. "We stole that lab, as you know, and we repurposed it. What we needed from it was your knowledge, and we repurposed that to make something far simpler than what you were trying to do to us. Now YOU, newbie Vampires. You wanted to erase Vampires and leave behind humans. We took that from you. We erased your every iota on knowledge about us from your world and made it ours. Then my brilliant future husband came up with an idea and we made this with it."

Denise wiggled the dart again. I am not sure why Denise is underlining our relationship here, other than perhaps making it personal. You come after my guy; I come after your entire sub-species with a vengeance type of thing. Sirens are very 'eye-for-an-eye'. I suppose they would understand that kind of motivation.

"You two are going to turn. You are going to be sitting on the Siren Assembly, and you are going to be Vampires, and subject to OUR rules. Anyone that defies us, or tries any more bullshit, or tries to go all 'ultimate solution' on us will find that you are a Vampire, and you are in the group the humans will be hunting too. If you make me, I will turn every damn Siren there is, and you will join us in the Hell you made, as one of us." Denise laid out for the couple. "And before you get all 'why me?' remember where the damn lab was, and who funded it. You brought this on you."
