One Issue

"There is one issue before this joint Siren / Vampire body that we need to discuss immediately. We will not tolerate rape. Not even Siren on Siren rape. Rape is a crime that has affected many of us. In our community. We hold our collective noses at the way Sirens predate human women and wish you would just stop it. Stay within your own Subspecies. Mate with other subspecies that are informed, such as Ninovan's. You had no choice about it before Siren numbers recovered, but you have recovered! We understand how Sirens view Vampires' need for blood. It collectively sickens you. We seduce humans too. The difference is, they do not remember it, at least when done right. We do not affect their lives unless they turn. We work very hard to make sure that they do not. We hunt males. You hunt females. We, therefore, are not drawing the line at things like Seduction Song. We have no moral high ground to stand upon there. We do draw the line at Rape. There shall be none. Do you understand?"

There were general head nods. I think the fact that Vampires were not forcing the end of 'Open Mike Night' came as a shock. It made it easy to agree to this stricture.

"That being said: We will take vengeance upon Sirens. Some very specific ones. The ones that raped and hurt Ginger. That beat Wyatt." Victoria paused to let that sink in a little as it drew confusion.

"You are taking revenge for what we did to our own people?" Amber Cowles asked, very confused.

"Yes." Victoria succinctly answered. "Although you forget: You are Vampire now. You are part of the subspecies taking this action against Sirens. Rapist Sirens."

"What do you want with them?" Amber asked, shaking her head at the reminder of her status.

"We got the ones that were there the day we went in to rescue them. There are others. Each and every Siren that assaulted Ginger and Wyatt is to be presented to Denise and her Crew at some point in the next three days, in Austin. You need not worry about it after that. This is vengeance. Even as you are now Vampire, you will not want to know the details."

Amber really struggled with this concept. "Vengeance... For Siren on Siren violence."

"Yes." Victoria agreed. "Make it happen. Do not make us find them. We will be merciless in doing so, and this is nothing Sirens can put upon Vampires as an infraction either since we are providing Justice for what Sirens did to your own. Three days, in Austin, or we unleash the Crew."
