"You made me wait this long. Can you just tell say what Mr. True was talking to you about?" I grabbed Tyler's shoulder and he shrugged my hand off aggressively. I slung my bag over my back and ran after him.

Craig said he had to take a phone call and walked off a few minutes after we got out of school. Tyler's been weird all day. I mean, Tyler is always weird but today was just...the worst I've ever seen him. Craig mentioned it to me in class and asked if I would make sure he was okay. Craig looked almost as scared as when he heard Ryan's mom screaming at him. "It's literally been hours! What has you so shaken up?"

"Look man!" His voice was loud, harsh. I winced at the sound. He blinked several times before balling his fist and placing it by his side. Tyler lifted his head and looked around, scanning people and his surroundings. He lowered his head and pulled me down with him. "We got to ditch the shorty for me to tell you." He huffed.

I moved and stared at the building. Craig's been gone for a good five minutes. Surely if I shot Ryan a text, he could...occupy him.

"Why don't I ask Ryan to..."

"Guys!" I was cut off by a loud voice. Craig came running out of the school building and past us.

"Craig? What..."

"There's an issue with the dogs! My mother made a mistake...I've got to leave, I'll text you later!" Then he sprinted off in a different direction leaving Tyler and I behind in a daze.

"That was fucking convenient. Way too fucking convenient..." Tyler whispered and gave another paranoid look around. He shook his head and started off towards my house. "Anyways I have something important to tell you."

"What?"

"Mr. True knows everything." I blinked in confusion. Tyler ran a hand through his hair in an exasperated manor. Once his rambling started, it seemed to have no end. "He is a demon Luke. He knew about my assignment and I'm pretty sure he knows about you. He knows your father, EVERYTHING Luke! I don't know whether or not to trust him. He was acting all high and mighty that asshole..." He tapped his chin several times, looking at the ground. "They have to be watching us. They're watching us how else would they know?" He was definitely inside his own head right now.

"Tyler." He kept his eyes down muttering lightly. "Tyler?" He still paid no attention to me. Goddamn this was seriously bad. Tyler doesn't think, like ever...and even when he does it never ends well.

So, he isn't kidding? This isn't another joke?

"Tyler!" I yelled at him. This time his head slowly turned towards me. His muttering stopped and the way he looked at me was scary. At least scary for me.

He was scared. Not just scared, terrified. His eyes were wide and his body was visibly shaking.

There's no way this was Tyler.

"Tyler please calm down and explain everything in detail." I asked. He sat down in some grass and put his hands to his head. He rocked back and forth for a moment. I set down my bag and lowered myself to the ground next to me. My hand landed on his shoulder with a slight grip. He closed his eyes and sighed.

Tyler let out everything. From the moment he entered the door, the mention of my father's name, Craig's uncle, everything. He added in little bits of doubts and worries along the way. Going on a tangent about how he was going to do his assignment just fine. Telling me that he was waiting for the right moment to get the soul. That he wasn't attached to anyone or anything in the human world and Mr. True was "pulling shit out of his ass in word form".

"I just don't understand why. Why tell me all that stuff and threaten to take my assignment because I'm 'just like you'?" He massaged his forehead and pounded his fist into the ground. "He's acting like I'm a weak little boy that bastard!"

"Tyler calm the fuck down!" I grabbed his shoulders and shook him. Once his blue eyes were trained on me, I took a large breath and spoke. "That's why you've been acting weird all day? Why didn't you just tell me?"

"I didn't want Craig to hear." I let go of him and set my hands down. I stayed quiet for a bit.

"Why not?" Tyler started at me blankly.

"Are you fucking stupid?"

"No Tyler I'm serious. Why should we hide it anymore?"

"Are you insane?" He mocked. I punched him in the arm, hard. I wasn't messing around. He noticed and grasped the place I had hit.

"Why are we still hiding what we are?"

"You were against the idea of telling him. You were always inside your head about it. Thinking about what would happen." I gave Tyler a side eye.

"Stop looking into my damn mind without permission!" I growled.

"You say that but, even without our powers I know what you're thinking." He leaned back in the grass. "You have thought about coming clean so many times. I can see it in your eyes every time you fucking look at him." My mind wandered to points where I would have thought about that. How many times I've felt like such a..."Scumbag." Tyler finished my thought for me.

"I've been lying to him."

"We've both been liars." He rubbed his eyes. "I need to get the fuck out of here. It's screwing with my head." Tyler stood up and offered me a hand. I took it and he helped me up. "I've got till Sunday here. I can go back early if I want."

"What are you planning on doing?" I asked. He turned away from me and started walking.

"Getting this over with and leaving." He sighed. He stopped walking to turn around and flip me off. I smirked. "See you in hell asshole."
