" No, that spell would set yourself on fire " I said as we walk down the path with our horses.

" I'm glad I didn't try that last night " Lucinda said, I chuckled.

" It's beginners luck you didn't set yourself on fire " Laurence said.

" I didn't ask to be a witch " Lucinda said.

" We didn't ask to be magic users as well " Courtney said.

" What's the difference? " Lucinda asked.

" Your holding a cooking book that makes potions while we kill things " Eddie said.

" That's the worse explanation I have ever heard " I said.

" I agree " Courtney said.

" Us magic users learn magic by earning their mark " I gesture to my neck where my symbol is.

" But sometimes they born with a gift, like me " Laurence said.

" You were born with a gift? " Lucinda asked.

" Yep, I earned my symbol when I started learning spells " Laurence said.

" Weird " Lucinda said.

" Trust me, we all think it is " Eddie said.

" Why can't I drink a beer again? " Lucinda asked.

" Your 18, your too young to drink, however we're on our 20s " I said.

" 30s " Courtney corrects.

" Wait, she's the oldest? " Lucinda points to Courtney.

" You all are so predictable " she said.

" Don't worry Lu, I'm four years apart from you, so we're not that different " I said.

" Huh " she close her book and put it in her satchel.

" There's a village up ahead, maybe we can rest on one of their houses " Laurence said.

We approach a stable and I got off the horse then help Lucinda to get off my horse. We pass it off to the stable boy and walk around the village.

" Whoa, is this what a foreign village looks like? " Lucinda walks beside me.

" Not all village are the same, you don't travel much do you? " Laurence asked.

" I was never allowed to travel, ever since my mother died, Noelle has been taking care of me ever since " she said.

" Well, since your with us now, maybe you can help us with your magic, we can protect each other " Courtney said.

" This'll be fun " Lucinda said.

" Fun, but dangerous " Eddie said and we approach a house seeing a sign on the wall.

I see a guy passing by.

" Sir, are you the owner? " I asked.

" Yes, how can I help you? " He asked.

" We like to stay for one night here " I said.

" Seven emeralds each person " he said.

" That's expensive " Lucinda said.

Laurence paid the guy and Lucinda drops her jaw.

" You'll catch a fly " I close her mouth and we enter the house to see four beds exactly.
