Y/n's pov.

" This place is a maze " I said.

" This place is cool " Lucinda said.

" There's nothing interesting so far to mine " Eddie said.

" Things can happen unexpectedly, we still can't let our guard down " Courtney said.

" I just can't believe this is so old " Lucinda said.

I felt someone grab my hand and I turn around to see Laurence.

" Yes? " I asked.

" Uhh, you guys go ahead, we'll catch up " Laurence said.

" Alright, don't do anything weird " Courtney said as I pass her the torch.

" What is it? " I asked.

" Just in case we don't make it out of here, I just wanted to say I love you with all my heart and I will always protect you no matter what " he said.

" What are you talking about?, Why would you say that? " I asked.

" I just wanted to make sure " he said.

" Laurence, we'll make it out of here, you worry too much " I kiss his lips, he kiss back and I pull apart.

" Now lets go before we get left behind " I slide my hands off him and walk away.

He walk beside me and we catch up to the others.

" You didn't do anything weird did you? " Lucinda asked.

" No " I said and we came across a four way tunnel.

" So what's our goal here? " I asked.

" Whoever finds the other exit and get back to the village wins " Eddie said.

" Welp, one each " Laurence said.

" What about me? " Lucinda asked.

" Pick " Eddie said.

Lucinda look at the four of us as we hold our own torches.

" Uhh. . .Laurence " she points.

" Well, let's go " Laurence smile at me then walk down to the east tunnel.

Lucinda catch up.

" See you on the other side " Eddie said and went down the west tunnel.

" Well, I'm winning, but seriously though we're acting like kids what the hell are we doing? " Courtney walks down the northeast tunnel.

" I don't know " I turn to the northwest tunnel.

I take a deep breath and exhale then walk in.

" Don't worry Y/n, it's just an abandoned mine shaft, nothing could go wrong. . . . .can it? " I sighed.

" Yes, yes it can " I reply myself.

I groan and walk down the tunnel as it gets colder but still breathable. As times pass by I hear something boiling to my right, I turn and see lava.

I approach it and I was about to turn back around when something shiny caught my eye, I look back next to the lava and see a blue shining gem.

Diamond.

I leap over the lava and kneel down next to the wall, I place my hand on it and exhale in disbelief. As rare as it can be, diamonds are more rare and valuable. I take off my pickaxe off my back and I stand up, I swing the pick and smash the rock, the loud crash echoes down the tunnel.
