The Swamp Princess

The murky skies cleared on the special day of the next in line to be born, clearing a path for the bright sunlight to shine through, reflecting on the Swamp Kingdom. This was very rare to happen. The skies were in the Kingdom's favour this time.

In the highest floor of the Swamp Castle sat the King and Queen, and their two sons, both from the King and Queen's previous marriages, looking down at the new-born Princess. The princess had golden blonde hair and sky blue eyes, lightly tanned skin and tiny, almost unseen, freckles.

"Mum" Andrew began to speak, "What are we naming her?" he asks.

Queen Sabrina and King Jake think for a moment. "Well, how about Meghan?" Sabrina asks.

Jake thinks about this for a moment, "I like it. Not too simple, which is nice" he smiles.

Sabrina nods in agreement. "What do you guys think?" she asks, turning to face her son and her stepson. They look at the new-born princess with a smile and nod, "We like it!" Jonathon spoke.

Sabrina and Jake smile at them, "Then it's settled. She is now Princess Meghan Camarena of the Swamp Kingdom" Jake grinned.

At that moment as the princess's title is spoke, Meghan squeals happily and claps her little hands together, causing her 4 family members to laugh.

The door to the room opens, and in walks the Queen's brother, who has been told multiple times to never come to the castle, as he has been abusive to Sabrina. He peers into the cradle and looks at his niece before scoffing. "Ugh" he groans, "This kingdom is never going to prosper with a FEMALE running it!" he shouts. Andrew and Jonathon duck behind the crib in fear of their uncle.

Jake stands up, "You have been told MULTIPLE times to NEVER come to this castle! You have NO right to talk about MY DAUGHTER like that!" he says in anger.

Sabrina grabs her daughter and sons before leaving the room after her husband tells her to leave the room while he deals with her no-good brother.

"Mummy, why is Uncle Samuel like that?" Andrew asks.

Sabrina sighs, clutching her 3-day old daughter close to her as she makes her way to her sons rooms, Andrew and Jonathon following next to her. "I don't know Andrew... he's been like this since we were young. He never did like girls. I guess it's one of the main reasons why he's single, huh?" she chuckles.

Andrew and Jonathon laugh with her happily, causing the Queen to smile. "I'll protect all three of you for as long as I live" she says confidently.

Meghan and her two older half brothers look into the large crib that held their two new younger brothers. Yes, two. Queen Sabrina and King Jake had just given birth to twin boys. "Mummy, what are their names?" Meghan asks, looking up at her parents.

Sabrina smiles, "We decided on David and Cristian" she says.

"Ooh!" Meghan grins, "I like it!", she cheers, clapping her hands. Everybody laughed at that.

"And since it's your birthday in a week Meghan, I guess you could classify them as an early birthday present" her dad spoke with a chuckle.

Meghan grins more and claps her hands again. "Yay!" she smiles, her little crown almost falling off her head.

Meghan pats her new little brothers on the head before climbing onto the bed next to her mother, who was really tired from just giving birth last night. Sabrina smiles and hugs her only daughter.
